요즘 우리는 계속 ‘켜져’ 있어요.
컴퓨터, 음악, 알림, 나 자신까지도.
순간을 놓치면 뒤처질 것 같다는 감각 속에서 살죠.

하지만 고양이는 조용히 사라졌다가,
말 없이 다시 나타나곤 해요.
굳이 누가 찾지 않아도,
굳이 설명하지 않아도.

고양이는 예고 없이 떠나고,
예고 없이 돌아와요.
어쩌면 그게, 가장 자유로운 방식일지도 몰라요.

These days, everything stays “on.”
Our computers, our playlists, our messages — even us.
It feels like missing a moment means falling behind.

But cats remind us that it’s okay to disappear for a while.
They vanish without a word, then quietly reappear on the couch.
It makes us wonder: why do we work so hard to stay connected?

Cats unplug without announcements.
They return without notifications.
They exist outside the grid,
and somehow, that feels freeing.

우리는 뭔가를 공유하면 반응을 기대해요.
‘좋아요’, 댓글, 메시지… 어떤 형태로든요.
그래야 존재를 확인할 수 있다고 믿으니까요.

하지만 고양이는 아무 말도 하지 않아요.
그저 옆에 있을 뿐이에요.
아무것도 하지 않아도,
그냥 있다는 것만으로 마음이 놓여요.

AI는 빠르게 반응하지만,
고양이는 조용히 곁에 머무는 방식으로 묻죠.
“괜찮아?”라고.

When we share something, we expect a response.
A like, a comment, a DM — some kind of echo.

But cats don’t echo.
They sit next to you.
They make no sound, offer no reactions — and still, you feel noticed.

AI is quick to respond.
Cats ask if you’re okay by simply being near.
No pings. No prompts.
Just silent presence — and that’s what we miss most.

이제는 하루의 거의 모든 걸 기록해요.
걸음 수, 수면 시간, 기분까지.
데이터가 곧 기억이 되었죠.

하지만 고양이는 어제를 기억하지 않고,
내일을 계획하지 않아요.
피곤하면 자고, 심심하면 장난쳐요.

우리는 쉬는 것도 ‘일정’에 넣지만,
고양이는 그냥 쉬어요.
아무런 기록도 남기지 않죠.

We track everything now.
Our steps, our sleep, our moods — all recorded.

But cats don’t remember what they did yesterday.
Or plan what they’ll do tomorrow.
They nap when they’re tired. They play when they feel like it.

We schedule “rest” in our calendars,
but cats just… rest.
Maybe the most valuable data is the kind we don’t collect.

이제 AI는 그리기도 하고, 쓰기도 하고, 작곡도 하죠.
우리가 묻기 전에 먼저 반응해요.
정확하고 빠르게.

하지만 고양이는 아무것도 만들지 않아요.
그저 옆에 있어요.

생산성과 결과가 중요한 세상에서,
고양이는 아무것도 하지 않아도 소중한 존재가 되어줘요.
그게 살아 있다는 증거일지도 몰라요.

AI now paints, writes, composes — before we even ask.
It moves faster than thought.

But cats don’t create.
They just stay near while we do.

In a world that celebrates productivity,
cats remind us of the quiet value of simply being.
No output, no goals — just presence.
And that’s still something only living things can give.

고양이는 우리가 바쁠 땐 자고,
멈췄을 때 다가와요.
언제나 박자를 반 박자 느리게 맞추지만,
그래서 더 부드럽게 느껴져요.

기술, 연결, 속도 —
지금의 키워드들이죠.
하지만 가끔은 설명하지 않아도 곁에 있어주는 누군가가,
우리에겐 더 필요해요.

이번 호는 그런 마음을 담고 싶었어요.
알고리즘과 알림으로 가득한 하루 속에서,
아무 말 없이 함께 있는 고양이의 따뜻함을
그냥 가만히 담아보고 싶었어요.

Cats sleep when we’re busy,
and approach when we’re finally still.
They always seem a beat behind,
but their rhythm makes life feel a little softer.

AI, tech, speed, connection —
these are the words of now.
But sometimes, what we need most
is something — or someone — who doesn’t ask us to explain.

That’s what this issue is about.
In days filled with algorithms and alerts,
we wanted to hold space for the soft, wordless warmth
of a cat who simply stays.
