강아지와 함께하는 연휴의 마지막

연휴가 끝나가고 있습니다.

가족을 만나고, 오랜만에 웃고,
어쩌면 조금은 피곤하기도 했을 시간.
그래도 우리는 그 시간을 잘 건너왔습니다.

강아지들은 우리가 분주히 움직이던 며칠을
조용히 지켜봤을 겁니다.
낯선 발걸음과 커진 목소리 속에서도
늘 같은 자리에서 우리를 기다리며요.

이제 다시 일상으로 돌아가는 길.
조금은 아쉽고, 조금은 안도되는 마음이
섞여 있을지도 모릅니다.

새해는 거창하게 시작되지 않아도 괜찮습니다.
큰 다짐 대신
오늘 산책 한 번,
눈을 마주치는 순간 하나면 충분합니다.

설날의 마지막 하루,
조금만 더 따뜻하게 보내세요.
그리고 내일부터는
너무 빨리 달리지 않아도 됩니다.

The holiday is coming to an end.

You met family, shared laughter,
and perhaps carried a little quiet exhaustion home with you.
Still, you moved through it well.

Your dog watched those busy days unfold —
the unfamiliar footsteps, the louder voices,
the shifting rhythm of the house —
and stayed where it always does,
waiting for you without question.

Now we return to our ordinary pace.
There may be a hint of relief,
a touch of longing,
and something unspoken in between.

A new year does not need a grand entrance.
It can begin softly —
with one slow walk,
one steady gaze held a little longer than usual.

On this final day of the Lunar New Year holiday,
be gentle with yourself.
Tomorrow will come soon enough.
There is no need to run toward it.

Doggy’s Hamilton hopes that this year
you and your companion walk forward
with quiet strength and unhurried freedom.
