고추잠자리
바람이 살랑살랑 불어왔다. 무더위는 조금씩 물러나고 있었다. 작은 개천에 다섯 살 된 아이가 있었다. 그 아이는 흐르는 물에 손을 담았다. 물은 차가웠다. 아이는 물속을 바라보았다. 물속에는 작은 벌레가 기어 다녔다. 아이가 손으로 물을 흔들었다. 작은 벌레는 놀라서 도망을 갔다. 아이는 손에 물을 바지에 닦고는 하늘을 바라보았다. 하늘에는 흰 구름이 떠있었다. 흰 구름 속에서 뭔가 나타났다.
“뭐지?”
아이는 계속 지켜보고 있었다. 점점 아이에게로 날아오고 있었다. 고추잠자리였다. 아이는 손을 높이 뻗었다.
“고추잠자리구나!”
고추잠자리는 아이의 손가락 위에 앉았다. 아이는 가만히 있었다. 고추잠자리는 날개를 몇 번 흔들고 머리를 좌우로 움직였다.
“내가 누구냐고? 나는 보미야.”
고추잠자리는 고개를 끄떡이었다. 그리고 날개를 흔들었다. 보미도 반갑다는 표시로 웃었다. 고추잠자리는 아이의 손끝에서 날아와 아이의 얼굴 주위를 빙빙 돌았다. 고추잠자리는 날갯짓을 하며 보미의 눈앞에 멈춰있었다.
“안녕, 내 눈앞에 오니 네 눈이 매우 크구나.”
“네 눈도 역시 크다. 넌 꿈도 크겠지?”
“내 꿈? 몰라!”
“아냐! 하나님이 주셨어. 저 하늘을 봐~ 저 구름이 너의 꿈이 될 거야!”
“그래, 알겠다. 배 모양이다! 난 선장이 될 거야!”

A Red Dragonfly
The wind blew softly. The heat was little by little going back. There was a five-year old child in a brook. The child dipped his hand in the running water. The water was cold. The child looked into the water. A little bug moved in the water. The child waved the water with his hand. The little bug in the water was shocked and ran away. The child wiped his wet hands on his pants and looked at the sky. There were white clouds in the sky. Something appeared in the white clouds.
"What is it?"
The child was watching. It was bit by bit flying toward the child. It was a red dragonfly. The child stretched out his hand high.
"It's a red dragonfly!"
The red dragonfly sat on the child's finger. The child did not move. The red dragonfly waved its wings a few times and moved its head from side to side.
"Who am I? I'm Bomi."
The red dragonfly nodded its head and waved its wings. Bomi also smiled as a sign of welcome. The red dragonfly flew up from the tip of the child's finger and circled around the child's face. The red dragonfly stopped in front of Bomi, flapping of the wings.
"Hello, your eyes are very big in front of me."
"Your eyes are big, too. You have a big dream, right?"
“My dream? I don't know!"
"No, God gave it to you. Look at the sky! That cloud will your dream!"
"Yeah, I got it. It's shaped like a ship. I'll be a captain."
