개미의 이웃
산들바람이 부는 봄날이다. 송이가 아장아장 좁은 툇마루로 나왔다. 송이는 두 손을 벽에 기대고 한 걸음 한 걸음 옆으로 걸었다. 송이는 몇 걸음 가다 주저앉았다. 송이는 마당에 핀 꽃들을 바라보았다. 어디서 날아왔을까? 흰나비 한 마리가 꽃들 위로 날고 있었다. 송이는 흰나비를 보자 손을 뻗었다. 흰나비는 너무 멀리 있었다. 송이의 손이 닿지는 못했다. 송이는 다시 일어났다. 벽에 두 손을 기댄 채로 한 걸음씩 옆으로 걸었다. 송이는 툇마루 끝에 왔다. 송이는 엎드려서 툇마루 아래를 내려다보았다.
까맣고 조그마한 개미들이 툇마루 기둥을 오르고 내리고 있었다. 송이는 개미들을 바라보고 있었다. 개미 한 마리가 송이의 손등에 기어올라 왔다. 송이는 손등에 있는 개미를 쳐다보았다. 개미도 송이를 쳐다보고 있었다. 개미는 고개를 갸우뚱하고 몸을 돌려 엉덩이를 올렸다 내렸다 했다. 송이는 개미의 행동을 보고 미소를 짓습니다. 개미는 송이의 손에서 미끄러져 내려가 어디론 가 가버렸다. 송이는 손을 들어 이리저리 살폈다. 개미는 보이지 않았다.
송이는 다시 툇마루 밑을 내려다보았다. 끝없이 개미들이 오르고 내리고 하고 있었다. 잠시 후에 송이의 손등에 개미 한 마리가 예쁜 잎을 물고 올라왔다. 개미는 송이를 쳐다보고 있었다. 송이가 개미를 보고 미소를 지었다. 개미는 송이의 손등에 예쁜 잎을 내려놓고 갔다. 따스한 햇볕이 툇마루에 비추었다. 송이는 예쁜 잎을 손에 든 채로 옆으로 누워 잠이 들었다. 송이는 개미들과 즐겁게 놀고 있는 꿈을 꾸고 있었다. 그녀는 방긋 웃으며 자고 있었다. 송이는 꿈속에서 개미의 이웃이 되어 있었다.
Ant's neighborhood
It is a breezy spring day. Song come out on the narrow verandah. Song took a step by step sideways with his hands against the wall. Song sat down after a few steps. Song looked at the flowers in the yard. Where did a butterfly fly from? A white butterfly was flying over the flowers. Song stretched out his hand when he saw a butterfly. The white butterfly is too far away. She couldn't reach it. She is up again. She walked sideways with her hands on the wall. She came to the end of the verandah. She lay face down and looked down at the verandah.
Black little ants were climbing up and down the toenmaru pillar. She is looking at the ants. An ant climbed on the back bof her hand. She saw an ant on the back of her hand. The ant looked at her, too. The ant titlling its head and turned its and put up and down its butt. She smiles at the ant's behavior. The ant slipped from her hand and went somewhere. She looked around her hands. She didn't see an ant.
She looked down again under the toenmaru. The ants were climbing and descending endlessly. After a while, an ant came up on the back of her hand with a pretty leaf in its mouth. An ant was looking at her. She smiled at the ant, too. The ant put a pretty leaf on the back of her hand and went away. The warm sun shone on the toenmaru. She fell asleep with a pretty leaf in her hand. She is dreaming of having fun with the ants. She was sleeping with a smile. Song became the ant's neighbor in his dream.
