난 팟캐스트를 많이 듣는다

대부분 한국방송을 듣는데

오늘은 문득

뭐 새로운거 없나

하는 생각이 들었다

그러다 듣게 된 방송

'Friends Without Benefits' from 'Modern Love'

Hannah Selinger (하나 셀린저) 라는 작가의 에세이에 관한 에피소드였다.

The right person is worth waiting for. 

But how do you know who the “right” one is? 

How long are you supposed to wait?

뭔가 사람을 집중하게 만드는 phrase로 시작했다

에피소드의 절반은 '오디오북'처럼 에세이를 읽어줬다

친한 여자사람, 남자사람 친구였던 두사람

하지만 우정 이상의 설명할 수 없는 감정이 가졌던 두 사람

시간이 지나면서 가까워졌다가 멀어졌다가를 반복하고

그는 계속 사랑한다면서 떠나가고 돌아오기를 반복한다

Hannah 는 끊임없이 이 관계에 희망이 있다는 생각을 놓치 못한채

몇 년의 시간이 계속 흘러간다

나머지 절반의 에피소드는 팟캐스드 DJ, Editor, 작가 Hannah의 이야기를 들려준다

기억에 남는 Hannah의 이야기

I certainly woundn't want to tell someone not to wait around.

but

...

there wasn't one second  in my current relationship where I felt like I had to wait around

there wasn't a minute from beginning until now where I felt like he didn't want to be with me

i hope that everybody can find that kind of thing

i do believe that it exists

once you experience that kind of relationship and that kind of love

you realize you shouldn't be waiting around for anybody

서로에게 좋을 게 없는 친구 사이라...
