Spring

Judges 15:1-20

by 영어 참견러

18 Because he was very thirsty, he cried out to the Lord, “You have given your servant this great victory. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?” 19 Then God opened up the hollow place in Lehi, and water came out of it. When Samson drank, his strength returned and he revived. So the spring was called En Hakkore.

En Hakkore means caller’s spring. Samson has been severely suffering from the act of a young man of blood and because of his disobedience to parents as well as God's word. Now he is asking water, calling God's name, and God answers him, opening up a place with water coming out of it. After Samson's cruel and violent battle with the Philistines which seem to have happened because of his wrong behaviors, God makes his strength returned and his soul revived through the springs of water of life.

His act and life resembles the ones of humans including me: foolish, violent, unfaithful, disobedient, revenging, and showing off, and so on. as Jesus said, "there is no one good except God." However, my good and generous Father becomes a caller's spring, giving a flow of fresh water, which never dries out, and satisfies my soul: the Holy Spirit. Whenever I call, He answers. Even though life seems to go around with the wisdom, power, and wealth of mine, I couldn't have lived up a day without the pouring springs of the Holy Spirit every single day because I would have died of thirst.

Revelation 7:17

17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Revelation 21:6

6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty, I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.
