Latte Art, Patented

C.Through Cafe, Seoul

While strolling down the street near Itaewon with my dearest friend Youli, few blocks afar from my own residence, I was drawn to this tiny cafe with pink neon sign on top. It read C.Through, a phoenetic writing for an adjective 'see-through'. According to the Cambridge Dictionary, an adjective 'see-through' is defined as quality of being transparent. I wondered what aspect of the cafe had to do with being transparent, so I went inside to resolve my puzzlement.

Apparently, this particular space was already quite famous among instagram users. (@c.through) The owner, and the founder of the cafe Lee Kangbin (@leekangbin91- you can see his other works here) created this 'skill' and patented this. I ordered one from the 'original selection', and it was definitely above my expectation. The latte art was amazing! One surprising thing about this particular work of 'art' was that it was done with iced latte. I wondered why...

Anyway, the latte tasted creamie:) (Though it tasted like gaining 1000 calories at once)

The other option on the menu was ordering my own design of latte art (30 thousand won, equivalent of 30 USD). The previous works included The Starry Night of Vincent Van Gogh, The Scream by Edvard Munch, Bumble Bee from Transformer, and the characters from The Simpson Family (featured @leekanbin91). Although I did not choose this option of ordering as I was so full after already having the original one, I plan to visit this place again soon with my own design.
