27번째 에피소드는 산문형 (narration) 을 소개해 드렸지요? 이번에는 요점형 (summary) 입니다.
지난 에피소드에서 썼던 같은 가상 시나리오를 사용합니다:
"(서론) 어제 보내 준 미납금에 대해 설명을 해 준 이메일 잘 받았고, 관련된 부서에 사항 전달하였다 (본론) 하지만 미납금은 아직까지 지불되지 않은 상태로, 계속 미납상태라면 다음주부터 발송될 예정인 물건들은 보류될 것이고, 그 후에도 미납상태로 30일이 경과할 경우 추심업체에 이 케이스를 넘겨서 해결하는 방법을 찾겠다. 그 후에는 법적인 조치가 따를 것임은 당연하다. 따라서 이번 주 내에 미납금 전체를 지불하는 것을 강력히 추천한다."
이 시나리오를 아래와 같이 영문화했지요?

자, 이걸 산문화를 하지 않을 수 있다면 문법걱정 등등 안 해도 되니, 방법이 있을까? 하는 생각을 하게 되는데, 이 걱정을 대부분 상쇄할 수 있는 방식이 있습니다. 즉:

이 세가지 phrase 중 하나를 사용하여 본론의 도입부에 넣은 후 (시나리오를 사용하면 이와 같습니다) 본론을 풀어가면 되지요:

한결 쉬워보이지요? 검정색 부분만 작문하면 끝!
그럼 상세내용은 어떻게 할까요? 다시 위 phrase 들 중 하나를 사용하여 써 보겠습니다:

- hold all shipment until the invoice is paid until next week
- send this case to a collection agency after 30 days
- find legal ways to resolve this issue if not resolved after 30 days

Detail 부분이 모두 동사로 되어 있지요? 일관성 및 통일성이 있어서 action word 위주로 강조하고 메세지 전달을 효과적으로 할 수 있습니다.
위 요점형 (summary) 은 desktop 이나 notebook 에서 보시면 line 의 변화없이 잘 보실 수 있는데 smartphone 환경에서는 깨져서 보일 수 있습니다. 참조하시구요 -
