Tea Steam & Typed Goodbyes | Seasons Greetings

Although it was still January, Elena's garden, approaching spring, was filled with the mystical scent of love. Joseph looked at her and said, "You... shine brighter than the stars." Elena paused at those words. She looked into his eyes and felt the emotion within them. It wasn't a simple compliment. It was a feeling built up over years, a silent observation. "You... are always so introverted," she said. "But today... is different." He smiled. "Seeing you so happy today, I feel like I can't express it in words."

They arrived at the mansion, and Elena stopped at the door. She looked at Joseph and said, "Thank you for walking with me tonight. It was more special than the experiment." Joseph looked at the notebook in her hand. "The words in that notebook might one day change the world. But... you've already changed mine." Elena's eyes widened in surprise, then she smiled quietly. She opened the door and uttered her final words: "Then... will you walk with me on the day the next experiment ends?"

As if sensing their unwillingness to part ways, a butterfly fluttered between them. Butterflies in January? Elena figured Sally must have done something special.
