Violet was waiting for him. Her face looked really pale. The same pattern persisted. He brought her into the statement room for questioning. He was hoping she'd talk fast. Alexander found her crying with both hands trembling. Tears had plopped down onto her thighs. Alexander watched her, and gave her a cup of warm water.

"I'm scared. I would rather die if that video is spread online,"

she said with a shuddering voice.

"That would never happen,"

Alexander said automatically.

"How can you be so sure?"

she looked up at him.

"I will do my best to arrest the criminals. And if what you're worried about comes to pass, the criminals will also have to pay for what they've done.”

She burst into tears. She looked so miserable that Alexander almost forgot who she was to him. He approached next to her, almost putting his hand on her shoulder, but he stopped his hand in the air, withdrawing quickly.

"Are you ready to be interviewed?"

he asked rather gently.

She began to talk. How Ed drove her out from his house, how she was left astray in the street without anywhere to stay, how she was kidnapped, how they stripped her naked and what they said right before the rape began. She couldn't say anymore as she was crying, her face tucked into her neck, wailing fiercely.

"He made it happen; made me get raped. That's what he's done to me."

"Why do you think he made them do it? Because they mentioned his name?"

She just wailed. Alexander waited for a moment until her wailing died down.

"You know who they were, don't you?"

he asked.

"I don't think I can testify anymore,"

she said. He doubted his own ears.

"What on earth do you mean? You came here to testify, and now you don’t want to talk!"

Alexander said this while hiding his rage.

"I'm afraid. I'm anxious. Let me arrange my thoughts, and you can interview me another day. Please, you can just begin the investigation, right? I have a right to give you additional statements later, don't I?"

Alexander tried to persuade her not to leave, but she was stubborn like a mule. She just left, saying that she would kill herself if the video spread. He remained alone, swearing and pissed. He calmed himself down, looking at the messages which Violet submitted to him.
