우울하고 슬픈 날에는

예쁜 것들이 생각난다

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
(장미 꽃잎의 빗방울과 고양이들의 작은 수염)

Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
(밝게 빛나는 금속의 솥과 따뜻한 털 벙어리장갑)

Brown paper packages tied up with strings
(갈색의 종이들과 그것을 매고 있는 노끈들)

These are a few of my favorite things
(그곳에는 내가 좋아하는 몇 가지가 있지)

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
(크림 색깔의 조랑말과 바삭한 사과과자)

Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
(초인종들과 종들, 그리고 국수와 같이 있는 송아지 커틀렛)

Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
(야생의 기러기들은 달까지 그들의 날개로 날아가지)

These are a few of my favorite things
(그곳에는 내가 좋아하는 몇 가지가 있지)

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
(하얀 드레스와 반짝거리는 파란 비단 장식 머리띠를 한 소녀들)

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
(눈송이들은 나의 코와 눈썹에 머무르고)

Silver white winters that melt into springs
(하얀 은빛의 겨울은 봄에 의해 녹고)

These are few of my favorite things
(그곳에는 내가 좋아하는 몇 가지가 있지)

When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad
(언젠가 개들이 무언가를 물을 때, 벌들이 무언가를 쏠 때, 언젠가 내가 슬프다고 느낄 때)

I simply remember my favorite things and then I don't feel so bad
(내가 좋아하는 것들을 간단하게 기억해내면,  난 슬프지 않지)

우울하고 슬픔이 느껴지면 예쁜 것들이 생각난다

생각해 내는 것이 아니라 그냥 생각이 난다

우중충한 날 꽃 피우듯 펼쳐지는 알록달록 우산

꽃잎이 흩날리다가 살포시 앉을 것 같은 봄 구두

못난 얼굴 보지 말고 여길 보아주세요 말하듯 살랑거리는 귀걸이

이런저런 생각들로 가득 차오르면 

어느새 입가에 미소가 번져있다
