아트쉬프트가 무인양품 강남점 전시 공간에서 새로운 전시를 선보입니다. 이번 전시는 전시기획사 하이그림이 무인양품과 함께 기획한 첫 사회공헌 프로젝트로, 저희를 전시 작가로 초대해 주셨습니다. 예술가들이 자유롭고 지속 가능한 창작활동을 이어갈 수 있도록 돕는 취지 속에서, 저희 역시 그 비전에 깊이 공감하며 참여하게 되었습니다.
전시의 주제는 ‘비움과 진실’입니다. 무인양품은 외형을 덜어내고, 아트쉬프트는 내면을 드러냅니다. 서로 다른 방식의 비움이 결국 하나의 지점—본질—을 향합니다. 이번 전시를 통해, 보이지 않는 것 안에 깃든 진실이 얼마나 깊고 단단할 수 있는지, 그리고 사라진 자리에서 피어나는 본질이 무엇인지 함께 나누고자 합니다.
아트쉬프트는 예술이 단순한 결과물에 머무르지 않고, 작가와 관객이 자연스럽게 만나는 ‘살아있는 이야기’가 되어야 한다고 믿습니다. 작업실, 전시공간, 카페, 굿즈샵이 하나로 연결된 저희의 공간처럼, 이번 전시에서도 작품은 벽에 걸린 완성품이 아니라 하루의 감정과 연결되는 경험이길 바랍니다.
예술은 다시 사람에게 돌아가야 합니다. 그 안에 진심이 있다면, 형식은 달라져도 괜찮습니다. 예술이 삶과 멀리 떨어져 있지 않도록, 작가는 숨지 않고, 관객은 머뭇거리지 않는 자리. 이번 전시가 바로 그 관계의 자리가 되길 바랍니다.

ART X SHIFT × MUJI Gangnam

ART X SHIFT presents a new exhibition at MUJI Gangnam. This project is MUJI’s first social-contribution collaboration with exhibition planner HIGRIM, who invited us as participating artists. Rooted in the vision of supporting artists in sustaining their creative practice freely and continuously, this collaboration is one whose purpose we deeply resonate with.
The theme of the exhibition is Emptiness and Truth. MUJI strips away the external; ART X SHIFT unveils the internal. Two different ways of letting go ultimately lead to the same place—essence. Through this exhibition, we seek to share how deep and unshakable truth can be when it dwells in what is unseen, and how the essence can emerge from what has disappeared.
We believe art should not remain as a fixed result, but as a living story where artists and viewers naturally meet. Just as our own space connects studio, gallery, café, and shop into one, the works in this exhibition are not static objects on a wall, but experiences that connect with the emotions of each day.
Art must return to people. If there is sincerity within, the form may change, and that is perfectly fine. Art should never be distant from life. The artist does not hide, and the viewer does not hesitate to step closer. This exhibition aims to be that meeting place of connection.
This exhibition could only come to life thanks to the trust and dedication of so many who believed in Art Shift and stood by us until the very end. We are deeply grateful for the faith, encouragement, and countless unseen efforts poured into every stage — from planning and preparation to installation.
