No Answer Without the Question.
하나님 이야기를 올리면 팔로워가 줄어든다. 하지만 그것이 두렵다고 해서 나를 부정할 수는 없다. 인간은 누구나 자신의 믿음으로 살아간다. 각자의 믿음으로 사랑하고, 판단하고, 선택하며 살아간다. 그러니 나의 믿음이 다르다는 이유로 자신을 숨기지 않기를 바란다. 어차피 우리는 누구와도 같을 수 없다.
예술은 내면을 다루는 일이다. 예술가는 이야기를 전하는 사람들이다. 그 목소리 속에는 영적인 기운과 내면의 고유한 진동이 스며 있다. 그 의심의 과정이 곧 예술이 되고, 그 안에서 발견한 것들은 자신의 인생이자 작품이 된다. 예술은 믿음과 의심 사이, 그 좁은 틈에서 수없이 흔들리며 태어난다. 그리고 그 틈에서 끊임없이 자신을 다시 정의해 간다.
내 안에는 수많은 사람들이 가져다 놓은 생각과 믿음이 뒤섞여 있다. 그중 무엇이 내가 확신한 것이고, 무엇이 그냥 받아들인 것인지 구별해야 한다. 누군가의 한마디가 내 세상이 되기도 하고, 나를 규정하기도 한다. 상처가 신념이 되고, 두려움이 한계가 된다. 당연하게 여긴 것, 무심히 믿은 것, 믿지 않는다고 믿는 것들까지 모두 믿음이다.
대중이 좋아한다고 해서 진실이 되는 것은 아니다. 많은 이들이 공감한다고 해서 깊이가 생기는 것도 아니다. 목소리가 크다고 진실이 되는 것도 아니고, 작다고 해서 거짓이 되는 것도 아니다. 진실은 공감의 크기나 개수로 결정되지 않는다. 예술가는 진실을 다루는 사람이다. 그것은 재능이나 성공의 문제가 아니다. 세상 속 자신을 바라보며, 보이지 않던 것을 드러내는 일이다.
멈춰 서서 질문하라. 내가 믿는 것이 정말 내 것인가. 어떻게, 왜 확신하는가. 내가 믿지 않는 것은 왜 믿어지지 않는가. 그 불신의 뿌리는 어디에 있는가. 내가 두려워하는 것이 진실인가. 내가 만들고 있는 것이 내 목소리인가. 그 질문을 피하지 마라. 질문을 피하면 답이 없다. 의심은 우리를 무너뜨릴까 두렵지만, 남이 쌓아준 높은 세상보다 내가 쌓은 작은 세상이 더 낫다.

Art x Shift
When I post about God, I lose followers. But I cannot deny myself just because that frightens me. Every human being lives by their own faith. We love, judge, and choose through what we believe. So I hope you won’t hide yourself simply because your faith is different. After all, we can never be the same as anyone else.
Art deals with the inner life. Artists are those who tell stories. In their voices lie spiritual echoes and the unique vibration of their inner world. The process of doubt becomes art itself, and what we discover within that process becomes our life and our work. Art is born in the narrow space between faith and doubt, trembling endlessly as it defines itself again and again.
Inside me are countless thoughts and beliefs left by others. I must sort out which ones are truly mine and which ones I have simply accepted. A single word from someone can become my world or define who I am. Wounds turn into convictions, and fears become limitations. Everything we take for granted, believe without thought, or claim not to believe—these are all forms of belief.
What people love does not make something true. What many agree on does not make it deep. A loud voice does not make truth, and a quiet one is not a lie. Truth is not decided by the size or number of those who agree. The artist is the one who works with truth. It is not about talent or success. It is about looking at oneself within the world and revealing what could not be seen before.
Stop and ask. Is what I believe truly mine? How, and why, am I so sure? Why can’t I believe what I don’t? Where does that disbelief come from? Is what I fear the truth? Is what I create truly my voice? Do not avoid these questions. If you avoid them, there will be no answers. Doubt may frighten us, but a small world built by my own hands is better than a high world built by someone else’s.

저희는 미술작가 부부로서, 예술을 만나는 방식에 변화를 시도하고자 아트쉬프트를 만들었습니다. 아트쉬프트는 예술이 단순한 결과물에 그치지 않고, 예술과 삶, 작가와 관객이 함께 어우러지는 공간입니다. 작업실, 전시공간, 카페, 굿즈샵이 결합된 이곳은 예술가의 창작 과정과 그 안에 담긴 고민, 서사를 자연스럽게 나누며, 예술이 일상 속에 스며드는 문화를 만들어가고자 합니다.
We created Art x Shift with the intention of transforming the way we as a visual artist couple engage with art. Art x Shift is a space where art goes beyond being a mere outcome, becoming a place where art, life, and the connection between artists and audiences coexist. With a combination of a studio, exhibition space, café, and a shop, this space naturally shares the process of creation, the challenges, and narratives within, while fostering a culture where art seamlessly integrates into everyday life.
