우주의 일부
Part of the Cosmos
나는 살아있지 않지요.
무(無)에서 태어나 원자들을 품으며 별이 되었고,
별의 죽음이 낳은 빛과 원소들과 함께
수많은 새 별들로 다시 태어났습니다.
텅 빈 어둠을 채우며 은하를 이루다 도달한
창백한 푸른 점—
지구와 그 모든 것이 되었습니다.
수소와 헬륨이 뭉치고 잡아당겨 태양이 되듯,
쪼개지지 않는 원자들이 맞물려 세포가 되고,
생명의 기원이자 원천이 되어,
존재의 본질을 초월합니다.
해가 타고 달이 식어 소멸하여도,
이 몸이 죽고 흩어져 모두 사라진 듯 보여도,
침묵에서 교향곡이 피어나듯,
눈에 보이지 않는 원자들을 끌어안고
더 많은 별들과 인간으로 돌아옵니다.
삶의 시작은 새로운 것이 아니듯,
죽음도 순환하는 우주의 일부일 뿐,
삶과 죽음은 내게 종속되어,
음악과 라벤더와 강물처럼 흐르며, 영원히 존재합니다.
I am not truly alive.
Born from the void, I embraced atoms and became a star.
With the light and elements born from the death of stars,
I was reborn countless times as new stars.
I traveled through the empty darkness, filling it,
forming galaxies, until I arrived at a pale blue dot—
I became the Earth and all that it holds.
Just as hydrogen and helium cluster and pull to create the sun,
So too did indivisible things gather to become cells,
The origin and source of life,
transcending the essence of existence itself.
Even if the sun burns out and the moon grows cold and fades,
Even if this body dies and seems to vanish,
A symphony rises from silence.
I still embrace unseen atoms,
And I return as more stars, as more humans.
Just as the beginning of life is nothing new,
So too is death merely a part of the cycle of the universe.
Life and death are subordinate to me,
Flowing like music, lavender, and rivers — existing forever.
