I remember someone buying a nice house in a very very good deal from a good neighborhood and from a wealthy family 어떤 사람이 아주 좋은 동네게 부유한 가족으로부터 아주 좋은 가격에 좋은 집을 산 걸 기억합니다. Surprisingly why would they sell this such a beautiful house 놀랍게도 왜 그들이 이런 아름다운 집을 팔려고 하지? And when she moved in, she had a lot of problems 그러고 그녀가 이사 들어가자 그녀에겐 많은 문제가 있었습니다. It’s a gorgeous house 호화로운 집이었습니다. but it’s a 티스트릿? where there’s a speed running ride to the house 하지만 T 모양 거리여서 집 쪽으로 ?가 있었어요. 

(마스터) Yeah. The Asians are very smart네, 아시안들은 매우 똑똑합니다. Yes, they stay away from houses like that 네, 그들은 그런 집들을 멀리합니다. It’s bad bad Feng Shui 그건 아주 아주 풍수가 나쁩니다. 

(질문자) So I myself didn’t believe in Feng Shui저 스스로는 풍수를 믿지 않았어요, anything 어떤 것도요. So it’s okay I bought it 그래서 오케이, 전 그걸 샀습니다. But right after a month I moved in and one morning I was getting to drive my car to go to work 제가 이사 들어간 지 바로 한달 후에 어느날 아침에 일하러 가기 위해 운전을 하려고 했어요. I couldn’t start the car 차에 시동을 걸 수가 없었어요. So I told my son, ok go push the car so mom could start it 그래서 아들에게, 오케이 가서 차를 밀면 엄마가 시동을 걸 수 있을 거야 라고 말했어요. Then I wore highheels I was stirring the wheel the front cardoor was open  저는 하이힐을 신고 있었어요. 앞 차 문을 연 채로 핸들을 움직이는 중이었어요. so while my son was pushing the car but the driver was slanted so the car land back so I found out it ? So I broke my foot 그래서 제 아들이 차를 미는 동안, 운전석이 기울어져서 차가 뒤로 갔어요. 그래서 ?란 걸 알았습니다. 그래서 저는 발이 부러졌어요. So then after that I really I got so scared 그래서 그 뒤로 정말 겁이 났어요. I do believe in Feng Shui 저는 풍수를 믿게 됐어요. So I say what do I, how do I fix it 그래서 저는 제가 그걸 고치려면 어떻게 해야하죠? 라고 말했어요. I plant the trees bushes right in front of the house and nothing happened after that 저는 관목 덤불을 집 바로 앞에 심었어요. 그리고 그 뒤로는 아무 일도 일어나지 않았어요. (마스터) and what happened after that 그리고 그 뒤로 무슨 일이 생겼습니까?  (질문자) nothing happened after that 그 뒤로 아무 일도 생기지 않았습니다.     

 (마스터) you have, there’s a way to fix the Feng Shui 풍수를 고치는 방법이 있습니다. and the Feng Shui master knows what to do 풍수 전문가는 뭘 할지 압니다. That’s the way to fix it 그게 고치는 법입니다. It’s a cheap way to fix it 그걸 고치는 저렴한 방법입니다. It’s fixable 고칠 수 있습니다. But you still have problems 하지만 여러분에게는 여전히 문제가 있습니다. Yeah. There’s a way to fix it 네, 그걸 고칠 방법이 있습니다. but sometimes pretty expensive 하지만 어쩔 때는 꽤 비쌉니다. same thing 마찬가지 입니다. This is why the Asians are very smart 이래서 아시안들이 매우 똑똑하단 겁니다. Don’t buy a house 집을 사지 마십시오. Yeah That’s a bad news 네, 그건 나쁜 소식입니다. No matter how cheap it is 얼마나 저렴하건 간에 중요치 않습니다, an architect just bought the house in 아셔나우 한 건축가가 아셔나우에 있는 집을 샀습니다?, not that too far and in Asian area there 그리 멀지 않습니다. 그리고 거기 아시안들이 사는 구역 안에 있었습니다. where it’s cheap because somebody died and something 그 집은 저렴했는데 왜냐하면 누군가가 죽었고 등 때문이었습니다. Because many of them are well used to be ghosts, hungry ghosts 오케아, 왜냐하면 그들 중 대부분이 귀신, 아귀이곤 하기 때문입니다. So that’s why we are helping them 그래서 우리는 그들을 돕고 있습니다. The Vietnamese temple don’t have problems but this is even worse 베트남 사찰은 문제가 없지만 이건 훨씬 더 심각합니다. So I wouldn’t recommend you stay in the temple 그래서 나는 여러분이 절에서 지내는 것을 추천하지 않을 겁니다. 하하하. Master Xian Chi stayed in certain temples and he got in trouble himself 현지 노스님은 어떤 절들에 머물렀습니다. 그리고 곤경에 처했습니다. I don’t care. So that’s why we don’t have any problems here so far. ok 그래서 우리에겐 지금까지 여기서 어떤 문제도 없었습니다, so if you have a house like that 그래서 만약 여러분에게 그런 집이 있다면. if they persist the problem, persist,  만약 그들이 문제를 이어간다면 for example some of the family are depressed, members are depressed 예를 들어서 가족 중 누군가가 우울합니다, they have some problem, sick and stuff like that 아프거나 등등 문제들이 있습니다. Xian Shun was staying in a house where actually they had a lot of problems, right 현순스님이 집에서 지낼 때 사실 그들에게는 많은 문제가 있었습니다, 맞습니까? Not this house. But lots of problems 이 집은 아닙니다. 하짐만 많은 문제가 있었습니다. And in that case here, the best way is what she just said. Get a plaque for the ghosts 그리고 여기 그런 경우에 그녀가 막 말한 것처럼 최고의 방법은 그 귀신을 위해 위패를 다십시오. Because you don’t want to fight them. That’s what you should be doing instead of fighting or kick them out, stuff like that And you make enemies for lives 왜냐하면 여러분은 그들과 싸우고 싶어하지 않기 때문입니다. 그게 여러분이 그들과 싸우거나 그들을 내쫓거나 여러 생 동안 적을 만드는 대신에 여러분이 해야할 것입니다.  because all you do is that’s you go to the Taoist thing and they say I put a boodoo on the house so that the ghost cannot come back in 왜냐하면 여러분이 하는 것은 도교를 하는 곳에 가는 게 전부이기 때문입니다. 그들은 ‘내가 귀신이 안에 돌아갈 수 없도록 집에 부적을 붙이겠습니다, 라고 말합니다. That’s what they do 그게 그들이 하는 겁니다. That’s all they can do, by the way 그나저나 그들이 할 수 있는 건 그게 전부입니다. They put a boodoo on our temple. You know, they didn’t like hengliang? so they put the boodoo on our temple and look at the ?, what kind of ? is this 그들이 우리 절에 부적을 붙였습니다. 여러분, 그들은 행량?을 좋아하지 않았습니다. 그래서 그들이 우리 절에 부적을 붙였습니다. ?를 보십시오. 이게 무슨 종류의 ?입니까? It has no affect on us. ok 그건 우리에게 아무런 영향을 주지 않습니다, 오케이? The non Buddhists have this boodoo 이 비 불자들에게는 이 부적이 있습니다. They would seal the property so that the ghost is evicted 그들이 귀신을 내쫓기 위해 부동산을 봉할 겁니다. They cannot come in 그들은 들어 올 수 없습니다. And what happen is that they cannot come in but they wait for you outside 그리고 생기는 일은 그들이 안으로 들 수 없지만 밖에서 여러분을 기다립니다. And they follow you 그리고 여러분을 따라갑니다. ok 오케이? (현지 노스님 목소리) (마스터) Translate 통역하십시오. I don’t want to translate this part, too scary 난 이 부분을 통역하고 싶지 않습니다, 너무 무섭습니다. (웃음) (현인스님 통역) Venerable, XianChi shared the story that ? in Vietnam, he hit and run and the person died and then the ghost possessed his wife 베트남에서 ?가 때리고 달아나서 그 사람이 죽고 그 아내가 그 귀신에 씌였습니다. So they cause a lot of problems to the family 그래서 그들이 그 가족들에게 많은 문제를 일으켰습니다. and then in the end, a monk advise them that ‘ok. you should go to the temple and request the ceremony, request the plaque for the ghsot and help out’ 그리고 마지막에 한 스님이 그들에게 ‘오케이, 절에 가서 그 귀신을 위한 예불과 위패를 요청하고 그 귀신을 도와야만 합니다’라고 했습니다. and then the family have to do the ceremony similar to the family member  그러고 그 가족은 가족 구성원과 유사하게 예불을 해야만 했습니다. and then in the end it helped out with the ghost 그러고 마침내 그게 그 귀신을]에게 도움이 됐습니다. and and after that they win the lottery and they donate a big junk amount of the money to the temple to transfer the merit and virtue to the ghost 그리고 그 enldop 그들이 복권에 당첨돼서 절에 많은 돈을 기부해서 그 공덕을 그 귀신에게 회향했습니다. 

(마스터) It is never ending, trust me 그건 절대 끝나지 않습니다, 날 믿으십시오. The Asians have a lot of stories. 아시안들에게 아주 많은 얘기가 있습니다, 허허허허. They have a lot of problems with ghosts 그들에겐 귀신와 아주 많은 문제가 있습니다. But you know, westerners are so blissfully ignorant 하지만 서양인들은 아주 안락하게 무지합니다.      

(베트남어 청중) (현인스님 통역) The question is if I request the plaque for the ghost, does that mean that the ghost will move to stay in the temple 만약 내가 그 귀신을 위해 위패를 요청하면, 그건 그 귀신이 절에 머무르기 위해 이사할 거라는 의미인가요, 가 질문입니다. And master said yes. because now the ghsot know that we are helping them. So they will behave. 마스터께서 ‘네, 왜냐면 이제 귀신은 우리가 그들을 돕고 있는 중이란 걸 알기 때문에 행실을 똑바로 할 겁니다’라고 말했습니다.

(마스터) They will cooperate 그들은 협조할 겁니다. So if you help them, instead of fighting, fight them. It usually, problems get resolved 그러니 여러분이 그들과 싸우는 대신에 그들을 도우면 보통 문제가 해결됩니다. We don’t fight 우리는 싸우지 않습니다. We don’t impose our will 우리는 자신의 뜻을 강요하지 않습니다. The question here, yes, sir 여기 질문, 네, 남자분. 

(영어 청중 잘 안들림) (마스터) Yeah. That’s the another one you try to stay away from as well if I were you 네, 그건 내가 여러분이라면 멀리하려 했을 또 다른 것입니다. Because I bought ? home, too. I spent a lot of money fixing it up a lot more than I thought 왜냐하면 나도 ?한 집을 샀었기 때문입니다. 내 생각보다 그걸 고치는데 훨씬 많은 돈을 썼습니다. So sometimes, it’s ok. Be prepared to pay a little bit more than you think. in terms of making habitable 그러니 어떨 때는 괜찮습니다. 여러분 생각보다 약간 더 돈을 낼 준비를 하십시오. 거주할 만 하게 만드는 차원에서 말입니다. 

(영어 청중 잘 안 들림) (마스터) It manifests as the losses to the owner 그건 소유주의 손실로 나타납니다. He doesn't have to pay for  그가 내야만 하는 것은 아닙니다 but what he means is that Yeah whatever that the previous owner ? He couldn’t pay off, the new owner has to be responsible with it for in some ways 그가 의미한 바는 네, 이전 소유주가 ?한 게 뭐든 그가 다 갚을 수 없으면 새로운 소유주가 어떤 식으로든 그것에 대한 책임이 있어야만 합니다. So don’t go for the cheap ones 그러니 저렴한 것을 노리지 마십시오. Go for the good Feng Shui 풍수가 좋은 것을 노리십시오.
