Good morning. 

굿모닝

Welcome to our, thank you for coming to our Medicine Master Buddha Dharma Assembly. 

우리 약사불 법회에 오신 것을 환영하고 감사합니다. 

It's a good thing it hasn't rained yet. 

아직 비가 안와서 다행입니다. 

Otherwise, it would be inconvenient. 

왔으면 불편했을 텐데요.

The Medicine Master Buddha is one of the major Buddhas that, Dharma that the Shakyamuni Buddha brought to our world. 

약사 부처님은 석가모니 부처님이 우리 세상에 가져온 주요 부처님, 다르마 중 하나입니다. 

Just like the other Buddhas. 

다른 부처님들과 마찬가지로

Medicine Master Buddha, 

약사 부처님도

He became a Buddha by practicing Mahayana,

대승을 행함으로써 부처가 되었습니다. 

On his Bodhisattva path, he made a lot of vows.

그가 보살도에 있을 때, 많은 서원을 세웠습니다. 

And that's the part of the Mahayana practice. 

그게 대승 수행의 한 부분입니다. 

A huge difference in Mahayana vs Hinayana Buddhism is that in Mahayana, we are in a habit of making a lot of vows, lifetime after lifetime.

대승과 소승 불교의 커다란 차이점은 대승에서는 세세생생 많은 서원을 세우는 습관이 있다는 점입니다. 

And the bigger vows, the better. 

서원은 크면 클수록 더 좋습니다. 

The bigger your vows, the quicker you become a Buddha. Okay? That's the secret. if you're afraid and say, Let's, uh, let me make some vows that I can do. 

여러분의 서원이 더 클수록, 더 빨리 부처가 됩니다. 알았나요? 그게 비밀입니다. 만약에 여러분이 겁나서, 할 수 있는 서원 몇 개만 세워야겠다라고 한다면, 

If you‘re like that, you probably will become an Arhat like the Hinayana. 

그러면 아마도 여러분은 소승처럼 아라한이 될 겁니다. 

In Mahayana, we're very unreasonable. 

대승에서 우리는 매우 비합리적입니다. 

We make vows that we cannot possibly realize. 

우리는 실현 가능성이 없는 서원들을 세웁니다. 

Okay? What, you know, what it means is that, that lifetime after lifetime 

알았나요? 그게 무슨 뜻이냐면, 세세생생

we try to get further along in our vows. 

우리가 그 서원들을 따라서 더 멀리 가려고 노력한다는 것입니다. 

Similarly, we're just doing the same thing that all the Buddhas have done ahead of us, before us. 

그와 유사하게, 우리는 단지 모든 부처님들이 우리에 앞서서 했던 것처럼 그와 똑같은 것을 하고 있을 뿐입니다. 

In particular, Medicine Master Buddha, 

특히 약사 부처님은

he became a Buddha because he made 12 great vows. 

12개의 대서원을 세웠기 때문에 부처가 되었습니다. 

12 great vows. And in each, every single vow, 

12대원. 그리고 각각의 서원에서 

He says, I vow that I will not become a Buddha unless this vow is fulfilled.

그가 말하길, 나는 이 서원이 이루어지지 않으면 나는 부처가 되지 않을 것이라 서원했습니다. 

So he says, he has 12 of these great vows

그래서 그는 12가지의 대서원을 

to accomplish Buddhahood. 

불도를 이루기 위해 갖고 있겠다고 말합니다. 

So he has these 12 great vows are relevant to us. 

그래서 그는 우리와 관련된 열두 개의 대서원을 갖고 있습니다. 

Because these great vows are the vows that will help him create conditions to save living beings. 

왜냐하면 이 대서원들은 그가 중생을 구할 수 있는 인연을 만드는 걸 도울 것이기 때문입니다.

In particular, most of these vows are from his needs when he cultivated Bodhisattva path.

특히 이러한 서원들 대부분은 그가 보살도를 수행할 때 필요로 인한 것입니다. 

He realized that the people who came to support him in his practice. 

그는 수행할 때 자신을 후원하러 온 사람들이 있었음을 깨달았습니다. 

Without the living being's support and help, he could not possibly realize Buddhahood.

중생의 후원과 도움 없이 그가 불도를 깨닫는 것을 불가능했을 것입니다. 

Okay? And he remembers that. So he says Because of these living beings I vow that I will come back and save all these living beings. 

알았나요? 그리고 그는 그걸 기억합니다. 그래서 그는 이런 중생들 때문에 돌아와서 모든 중생들을 구할 것이라고 서원한다고 말합니다. 

So, along his vow, among his vows, 

그래서 그의 서원에 따라서, 그의 여러 서원 중,

He's known to be the Buddha who has great affinity with the Saha world 

그는 이 사바세계와 큰 인연이 있는 부처님으로 알려졌습니다. 

Because many of us, many of our ancestors have come and help him out already. 

우리 중 많은 사람들, 많은 조상들이 이미 와서 그를 도와주었기 때문입니다.

Okay? And If you did help him out. If not a lot, still a little, a little bit. 

그리고 만약 여러분이 그를 도왔다면, 돕지 않았더라도, 조금은, 아주 조금이라도요.

So he says, because of that, I vow that after I become a Buddha, I become a Buddha. I will vow that, uh, these twelve great vows will be there to support these living beings. 

그래서 그가 말하길, 그런 이유로, 부처가 된 후, 부처가 되면, 이 열두 가지 큰 서원이 중생들을 후원할 것이라 맹세한다고 말합니다. 

Mainly, primarily, these twelve great vows serve two functions for us. 

주로, 무엇보다도 이 12개의 큰 서원은 우리에게 두 가지 기능이 있습니다. 

It's about quelling disasters and lengthening life. 

그것은 재앙을 진압하고 수명을 연장하는 것에 관한 것입니다.

meaning that, if you practice his Dharma, Okay? 

그 뜻이 뭐냐하면, 여러분이 그의 다르마를 수행한다면,

then your disasters will be eradicated. 

그때 여러분의 재앙이 없어질 것이라는 겁니다. 

Meaning that if you have major disasters coming your way, they'll be become lessened. 

만약 여러분에게 큰 재앙이 닥친다면, 그게 줄어들 것이라는 의미입니다. 

Okay? If the smaller disasters, calamities come your way, they will disappear. 

좀 더 작은 재앙, 재난이 여러분에게 찾아오면, 그건 사라질 것입니다. 

So far so good? Okay? 

지금까지 이해했나요? 오케이?

For example, one of disasters you might have could be like an earthquake or tsunami, or natural disasters. 

예를 들어 여러분에게 있을만한 재앙 중 하나가 지진, 쓰나미 또는 자연재해일 수도 있습니다. 

Or could be another thing of disaster that could happen to many of us. or could be a natural disaster that could happen to many of us. 

또는 그건 우리 중 많은 사람에게 일어날 수 있는 재앙일 수도 있고, 어떤 자연 재해일 수 있는데,

It's called 橫死.

횡사라고 부르는 것입니다. 

Usually, we come to our world, this world, with expected life, with a life expectancy of around in this day and age, on average, about 60 years. 

보통 우리는 우리의 세계, 이 세상에 기대수명을 가지고 옵니다. 평균적으로 이 시대에 대략 60세 정도의 수명을 가집니다. 

Okay? meaning in the U.S. we live to be around 70, 80's. And in Iraq, it's about 20 years. 

오케이? 그 뜻은 미국이라면 우리가 70년, 80년 정도 살고, 이라크라면 20년정도 되는 겁니다. 

Okay. So, on average, the whole world, Saha world, life expectancy nowadays is about 60 years. 

그래서 평균적으로 전 세계, 사바세계에서 오늘날 기대수명은 약 60세입니다.

You have a lot of blessings. 

여러분은 복이 많습니다.

Okay? And part of it, It’s probably Medicine Master Buddha's blessings.

그렇죠? 그리고 그 중 일부는 아마도 약사 부처님의 복일 것입니다. 

This accidental death, 横死, in Chinese, means that you'll be free from traffic death. 

이 사고사, 한자어로 횡사라고 하는데, 여러분이 교통사고로 인한 죽음에서 자유로워진다는 뜻입니다. 

Or airplane crashes, train derailments, or all these accidental deaths, you'll be spared. 

또는 비행기 사고, 기차 탈선, 또는 이 모든 사고사에 있어서, 여러분은 면제될 것입니다. 

Alright? That's another form of disaster. 

알았나요? 그게 또 다른 형태의 재앙입니다. 

Furthermore, it's also lengthening life. 

게다가, 그것은 또한 수명의 연장입니다. 

He heals all kinds of illness. 

약사 부처님은 온갖 질병을 치유합니다.

If you meet with him, 

여러분이 그와 만난다면,

And you come and request him to heal any kind of illness, it'll be gone just like that. 

여러분이 약사 부처님을 만나서 어떤 종류의 질병이든 치유해달라고 요청하면, 그게 그렇게 그냥 사라질 것입니다. 

Isn’t that cool?

멋지지 않나요?

Immediately. That's what Buddhas do.

즉시 말입니다. 그게 부처님들이 하시는 일입니다. 

We can't do that. We have to go to see doctors.

우리는 그걸 할 수 없습니다. 우리는 의사한테 가야만 합니다. 

Okay? I remember the reason we still, we are practicing the Medicine Master of Buddha Dharma. 

그렇죠? 우리가 아직도 약사 부처님의 불법을 행하고 있는 이유를 기억합니다.

is because, when I first started about 11 years ago, 

내가 11년 전 처음 시작했을 때,

I didn’t want to get involved in this thing because I didn’t quite understand it.

나는 이 일에 관여하고 싶지 않았습니다. 왜냐하면 이것에 대해서 잘 이해하지 못했기 때문입니다.

I went to receive training in a Chinese temple. 

내가 중국 사찰에 훈련을 받고자 갔는데,

And they didn't explain much.

그들은 많은 설명을 해주지 않았습니다. 

My Master, Master XuanHua, explained this Dharma in one explanation, in one book. 

나의 사부인 선화 상인은 책 한 권에서 한 가지 설명으로 이 다르마를 설명했습니다. 

It didn’t say much. I didn’t understand much.

별로 내용이 없었습니다. 나는 별로 이해하지 못했습니다. 

Nor did his disciples.

그의 제자들도 마찬가지였습니다. 

But according to Chinese tradition, when you are in trouble, you go to the temple, and you request a Medicine Master Buddha tablet. 

중국의 전통에 따르면 여러분이 곤경에 처했을 때, 절에 찾아가서 약사위패(또는 약사불패)를 청합니다. 

Okay. So, that's what they all did. So, no one really understands anymore, what this Dharma is about. This Dharma actually is disappearing. 

그래서 그것이 사람들이 하는 일의 전부입니다. 이 다르마가 무엇인지에 대해서 더 이상 이해하는 사람은 정말로 없습니다. 이 다르마는 사실 사라지고 있습니다. 

Very few, even very few Chinese temples understand or practice it anymore.

극소수만, 심지어 중국 사찰도 극소수만 그걸 이해하거나 수행합니다. 

The Vietnamese, which are, where I am, in Vietnam, where I was born, they don't even have it. 

베트남인들에게, 내가 태어난 베트남에서는 심지어 그게 있지도 않습니다. 

Okay. They have something called, “Seeking peace and security”. 

베트남인들은 (대신) “안락을 구한다”로 불리는 뭔가를 갖고 있습니다. 

There are some temples who practice this Medicine Master Buddha Dharma.

이 약사불법을 하는 몇 사찰이 있는데,

And they would recite a mantra, and circumambulate around a Medicine Master Buddha lamp.

거기서 사름들은 약사 부처님의 등불 주변을 돌면서 진언을 외워서 

And they have some responses. 

감응을 좀 얻습니다. 

But I talked to some of them, and no really understand what this Dharma is about. 

하지만 그 사람들 중 몇과 이야기를 해보니, 정말로 이 다르마에 관해서 이해하지는 못했습니다. 

Ah, So anyway, so I was teaching about 11 years ago.

아무튼 나는 11년 전 즘 가르치게 되었습니다. 

As per my teacher’s instruction. 

나의 사부님의 지침에 따르는 일이었죠.

And one day, one of my students, a Chinese man, who was living in San Mateo, I was teaching in Los Angeles, Long Beach. 

하루는 나의 제자들 중 하나가, 산마테오(도시 이름)에 사는 중국인이, 내가 로스앤젤레스, 롱비치에서 가르치고 있는데,

And one day he came to me. “Can you close the, the door a little bit? So that, it's not as, as noisy. Please. Thank you.” 

하루는 그가 나를 찾아왔습니다. “거기 문을 좀 닫아줄 수 있을까요? 그래서 너무 시끄럽지 않게요. 고맙습니다”

And so he flew down. He came to me and said, my, his cousin, who was in New York. 

그래서 그가 날라왔습니다. 그리고 나에게 와서 뉴욕에 사는 사촌이

He's severely depressed. 

심각하게 우울하다고 말했습니다. 

His mother killed herself. 

그의 모친은 자살했습니다. 

Okay? She's so severe, she killed herself. And runs in the whole family.

그녀는 너무 심해서, 스스로 목숨을 끊었습니다. 그리고 이 문제가 가족전체에 흐릅니다. 

And, in this, in this man's case, he's a programmer. 

이 남자(제자의 사촌)의 경우, 그는 프로그래머인데,

And he's so, so severe, that he had to be hospitalized. 

너무 너무 심해서, 병원에 입원을 해야만 했습니다. 

And, he was so severe, that they had to go through electrical convulsion treatment. Something, ECT. 

그의 상태가 너무 심해서, 전기 경련 치료, ECT를 받아야만 했습니다. 

He go through 12, 12 treatments like that. 12 times. Okay?

그는 12번의 치료를 거쳤습니다. 12번입니다. 오케이?

It's very painful. extremely painful.

그건 너무 아픈 일입니다. 극도로 고통스럽습니다. 

And Jack told me, he says, I heard about that. I can't stand it. Is there anything in my Mahayana that can help my cousin?

그리고 잭은 그 이야기를 듣고 견딜 수가 없다고 합니다. 그러니 대승에 사촌을 도울 수 있는 게 없는지 물었습니다. 

And, so I said, Of course, there's a Master Medicine Buddha Dharma. 

그래서 내가 답하길, 당연히 있죠. 약사불법이 있어요. 

He says what is it? I said I don’t know much. Why don’t you go to DRBA and request a Medicine Master plaque for him?

그는 그것이 뭔지 물었습니다. 그래서 내가 나도 잘 모르니, DRBA(법계불교총회)에 찾아가서 그를 위한 약사위패를 올려보라고 했습니다.  

And he came to DRBA temple. And he asked for it. Somehow they messed up.

그리고 그는 DRBA 사찰에 가서 약사위패를 청했습니다. 어찌된 일인지 거기서 사람들이 그걸 망쳤습니다.

I think they gave him something else. So I told him, No, come back and ask for that one. because only that one would help him.

내 생각에는 그 사람들이 그에게 뭔가 다른걸 준 것 같습니다. 그래서 내가 그에게, 아니. 돌아가서, 하나를 청해봐요. 그것만이 사촌을 도와줄 수 있을테니까요.

And somehow they messed up. 

어찌된 일인지 이번에도 거기서 망쳤습니다. 

See? that’s what happen now. even Chinese temples they only collect the money for those tablets but they really don’t know really what’s going on.

알았나요? 그게 지금 일어나고 있는 일입니다. 심지어 중국 사찰들도 그 위패비를 받지만 정말로 무슨 일이 일어나고 있는지 모릅니다.

So he came back and say, you know, I can’t, I am really... time’s running out. Can you help?

그래서 그가 돌아와서 말하길, 시간이 없어요. 스님이 도와줄 수 없는건가요?

I say, okay if you want, I help.

그래서 나는 그가 원한다면 돕는다고 했습니다. 

So I started. it’s my first time I did Medicine Master Buddha Dharma.

그래서 시작한 것입니다. 그때가 바로 내가 처음으로 약사불법을 한 때입니다. 

He called me within the few days. 

며칠 후 그에게서 전화가 왔습니다. 

He says, My cousin, All of a sudden doesn't need to go to the ECT treatment anymore. Okay? 

그가 말하길, 사촌이 난데없이 갑자기 ECT 치료를 하러 갈 필요가 없어졌다고 합니다. 

He extended it from few months to a year.

그는 위패를 몇 달에서 1년으로 연장했습니다. 

And the cousin came out of the hospital, And came back and was able to work again. 

그리고 그 사촌은 퇴원했습니다. 돌아와서 다시 직장에 갈 수 있었습니다. 

So that's when I knew that the Medicine Master, My first experience with Medicine Master Buddha Dharma. 

그래서 그때 나는 약사법을 알게 된 때입니다. 약사불법에 대한 내 첫 경험입니다. 

And after that, a lot more people came. 

그리고 그다음 훨씬 많은 사람이 왔습니다. 

And so I found that it really heals a lot of illness. 

그리고 이게 수많은 질병을 정말로 치유한다는 것을 알게되었습니다. 

From cancer to all kinds of illness. 

암에서부터 온갖 질병을 말입니다. 

Okay? So it really, really works. 

알았나요? 그래서 이게 정말로 정말로 효과가 있습니다. 

The one thing I really like about Medicine Master Buddha Dharma. 

약사불법에 대해서 정말로 마음에 드는 한 가지는

And that's not available in all the Mahayana Dharma.

그리고 그건 모든 대승법에는 이용 가능하지 않은 것인데, 

Is that Medicine Master Buddha says, he made a vow to, if you believe in him, he will provide, make sure that you are not lacking in anything you need. 

만약 여러분이 약사 부처님을 믿는다면, 필요한 것이 어떤 것이든 부족하지 않도록, 그가 제공해줄 것이라는 서원을 세웠다고 합니다. 

You will never be lacking in anything you need at all. 

여러분이 필요로 하는 것이 절대 부족하지 않을 것입니다.

Okay? 

알았나요?

it's very very important. Because, so it translates into, for example, some people getting jobs. 

이건 아주 아주 중요합니다. 왜냐하면 이게 어떤 사람들에게는 일자리를 얻는 것으로 작동하기 때문입니다. 

Some others have the things that they want and they need. 

다른 사람들은 자신이 원하고 필요로 하는 것들을 갖게 됩니다.

In particular, my disciples forced it upon me. 

특히 나의 제자들이 나에게 이걸 하게 만들었습니다. 

My left-home disciple forced upon me. He said they wanted to generate blessings for them to continue to cultivate.

나의 출가인 제자들은 이걸 나에게 하도록 만들었어요. 제자가 말하길, 계속해서 수행할 수 있는 복을 짓고 싶다고 했습니다. 

It takes a lot of blessings in order to continue to improve. 

계속해서 발전하기 위해서는 많은 복이 필요합니다.

And to the point where some of them got the Medicine Master blessings and it made it very hard for me to get rid of them. (Some people laugh)

그리고 제자들 중 몇몇은 약사 부처님의 복을 얻었고, 그래서 나한테 제자들을 없애버리는 게 매우 어려워졌습니다. (청중의 웃음소리)

I tried and tried and tried. I couldn't. And that's why you still see a lot of them around. 

내가 노력하고, 노력하고 노력했는데, 없애버릴 수가 없었어요. 그래서 아직도 주변에서 그들(출가인 제자)을 많이 볼 수 있는 것입니다. 

Okay. alright? Any questions? 

오케이? 좋나요? 질문?

The one question that people often ask me. 

사람들이 나에게 자주 물어보는 질문이 하나 있습니다. 

And I didn't know how to answer it years ago. 

내가 몇 년 전까지 어떻게 대답해야 할지 몰랐습니다. 

And I asked that same question to myself. And I couldn't find an answer. 

그래서 나는 내 자신에게도 같은 질문을 해봤습니다. 그리고 답을 찾을 수 없었습니다. 

I was asking myself. I said, why is that? 

나 자신에게 물어봤습니다. 무엇 때문일까...

We have GuanYin already. Why do we need Medicine Master Buddha? 

우리가 이미 관음보살님이 있는데, 왜 약사 부처님이 필요한거지?

We practice hands and eyes.

우리는 사십이수안(四十二手眼)을 하고,

and we practice meditation.

명상을 합니다. 

Why do we need Medicine Master Buddha at all?

왜 우리에게 약사불이 필요할까요?

For example, GuanYin Bodhisattva that you, that we did the Universal Door Chapter last month, oh, this month. 

예를 들어 관음보살님, 지난 달에 우리가 보문품을 했을 때, 아 이번 달이네요.

If you need anything, GuanYin Bodhisattva comes and helps you already. Why do you need Medicine Master Buddha at all? 

우리가 무엇이든 필요할 때, 이미 관음보살님이 오셔서 돕습니다. 왜 우리가 약사 부처님이 조금이라도 필요한 걸까요? 

Ah, see? Now we have the answer over here. 

아! 보셨죠? 이제 저기 답이 있네요.

She came here today for that particular reason. 

저 여자분은 오늘 여기 특별한 이유로 왔습니다. 

Ah, yes. Please. Come up. Yeah. 

아! 네. 말해보세요. 네.

Ah, she has a very good argument. it's a good thing that she came. 

아, 그녀의 주장이 아주 좋습니다. 그녀가 온 게 다행이네요.

Very good. Man. This lady is good. 

아주 좋아요. 우와. 이 여자분이 대단하네요.

Oh, very good. This woman is good. 

오! 아주 좋아요. 이 여자분은 훌륭합니다.

(베트남어로 이어서 한동안 계속 말한다)

나는 그녀가 얼마나 알고 있는지 확인하는 중입니다. 그녀가 진짜 아는군요. (청중 몇이 웃는다)

Very good. Oh, very nice. (Everyone hand-claps) Okay. Translation. 

아주 좋습니다. 오, 아주 좋아요. (청중이 모두 손뼉을 친다) 네. 통역해보세요.

She said a lot of stuff. 

그녀가 많은 이야길 했습니다. 

There's a lot of good stuff that she gave. 

그녀가 해준 이야기 중 좋은 내용이 많아요. 

[28:27] Basically, she says that if you... 

기본적으로 그녀가 말하기를,

Guanyin is a great resource in terms of when you're in trouble, when you're in pain, you ask for her, and she'll come and help you out. That's her great vow out of compassion. 

여러분이 곤경에 처했을 때, 관음보살님을 청하면, 와서 도와줄 것이라는 측면에서 관음보살은 훌륭한 방책입니다. 그건 관음보살님의 자비에서 나온 큰 서원이라고 합니다.  

But in Medicine Master Buddha, you can get a lot of stuff that Guanyin does not provide. 

하지만 약사 부처님의 경우, 관음보살님이 해줄 수 없는 많은 것을 얻을 수 있다고 합니다. 

Namely, she says that you want a boy or a girl, you get a boy or a girl. 

즉 관음보살님은 여러분이 남자아이나 여자아이를 원한다고 말하면, 남자아이나 여자아이를 얻을 수 있습니다. 

And Guanyin doesn't have it, which is not correct. Guanyin also can, you can ask for children. 

그리고 관음보살님은 그런 게 없다고 합니다. 그건 사실 그렇지 않습니다. 관음보살님에게도 역시 여러분이 아이를 청할 수 있습니다. 

Okay? In fact, she says, for example, if you want a promotion, you can pray to Medicine Master Buddha, and you get a promotion. And that's what happened to her daughter. That is correct. 

알았나요? 사실 그녀가 말하길, 예를 들어, 승진을 원한다면, 약사 부처님께 기도해서 승진할 수 있다고 합니다. 그런 일이 자기 딸에게 일어났다고 합니다. 맞습니다. 

You can get it too. Okay. 

여러분도 그럴 수 있습니다. 오케이?

In fact, Guanyin can also do that. 

사실, 관음보살님도 그걸 할 수 있습니다. 

It's the same exact thing. 

완전히 똑같은 겁니다. 

It's also true that in Guanyin, you can also get promotions and material things as well.

관음보살에게서도 역시 여러분이 승진이나 물질적인 것을 얻을 수 있는게 사실입니다. 

So actually, and then I ask her, what about rebirth? 

그래서 실은, 내가 그녀(질문자)에게 물었습니다. 왕생은 어떤지. 

She says, for me at my age, all I care about is rebirth. So I need to go to Amitabha Buddha. 

그녀가 말하길, 자기 나이에서는 관심이 있는건 오직 왕생뿐이랍니다. 그래서 아미타 부처님에게 가야한다고 말입니다. 

And so I asked, what about Medicine Master Buddha? Can he help you? She says, no, but I have Amitabha Buddha already. I don't need him. 

그래서 내가 물었습니다. 약사 부처님은 어떤지, 약사 부처님도 도와줄 수 있는지 물었습니다. 그녀는 아니라고 하면서, 이미 아미타 부처님이 계셔서, 그(약사 부처님)가 필요하지 않다고 했습니다. 

It’s incorrect as well.

그것도 틀렸습니다. 

Because it turns out, Medicine Master Buddha, if you practice it, you will get blessings to go to all, to any Buddha land you want. 

왜냐하면 약사 부처님은 여러분이 수행하면, 원하는 모든, 어떤 부처님의 땅에도 갈 수 있는 복을 얻을 것입니다. 

You are all able to go there. Okay? Any Pure Land you want. 

여러분 모두 거기 갈 수 있습니다. 알았나요? 원하는 어떤 정토이든...

There are many Pure Lands in the universe. 

이 세상에는 많은 정토들이 있습니다. 

And, so you can make it to any PureLand. You are better off. Okay. 

그래서 어떤 정토이든 도달할 수 있다면, 여러분은 괜찮을 겁니다. 

You never know suffering again. 

다시는 고통을 알지도 못할 겁니다.  

However, to go to the Pure Land is very difficult. 

하지만 정토에 가는 것은 매우 어려운 일입니다. 

It turns out of all the PureLands available. 

사실 이용 가능한 모든 정토 중에서도 

As far as the Saha world residents are concerned. 

사바세계 거주자들에 관한 한, 

The easiest one is to go to Amitabha's Pure Land. 

가장 쉬운 곳이 아미타 부처님의 정토에 가는 것입니다. 

That's why we all wish, we all are advised to go to Western Bliss Pure Land for that reason. 

그런 이유로 우리 모두 서방극락정토로 가는 것을 소망하고, 권하는 것입니다. 

In fact, if you practice Medicine Master Buddha, you can also be born to Amitabha's Pure Land or Medicine Master Buddha's Pure Land as well. 

사실 여러분이 약사불을 수행하면, 여러분은 아미타 부처님의 정토 또는 약사 부처님의 정토에서도 태어날 수 있습니다. 

So it's very, very good. Okay? 

그래서 이게 매우, 매우 좋은 겁니다. 알았나요?

So in fact, you look closely to the Dharma. It's confusing because there's really not much difference between Medicine Master Buddha or GuanYin Dharma Door or even, Shakyamuni Buddha. 

그래서 사실 여러분은 다르마를 자세히 들여다봅니다. 약사 부처님이나 관음법문, 심지어 석가모니 부처님 사이에 별로 큰 차이가 없어서 헷갈립니다. 

We have all these blessings. 

우리에게 이런 복이 다 있는데, 

And why do we teach, why did Shakyamuni Buddha teach about Medicine Master Buddha? 

어째서 석가모니 부처님은 약사 부처님에 대해서 가르쳤을까요?

It's confusing. And that's why it’s disappearing. 

혼란스럽습니다. 그리고 그런 이유로 이게 사라지고 있습니다. 

Because they think that, what's the point? Okay?

사람들이 이게 무슨 필요가 있냐고 생각하기 때문입니다. 

I recite GuanYin everyday. I practice, you know, I practice the hands and eyes Dharma Door everyday. We practice the GuanYin Dharma. A lot of GuanYin Dharmas everyday. So why do we, why do we need Medicine Master Buddha at all? 

나는 관음보살님을 매일 부릅니다. 나는 매일 사십이수안을 수행합니다. 우리는 이 관음법을 수행합니다. 매일 수많은 관음법을 합니다. 그런데 왜 우리가 약사 부처님이 필요한 걸까요?

Okay? it's not surprisingly, Medicine Master Buddha Dharma is disappearing in this day and age. Because people don’t get it.

그렇죠? 그러니 이 시대에 약사불법이 사라지고 있는 것도 놀라운 일이 아닙니다. 왜냐하면 사람들이 이해를 못하기 때문입니다. 

Yes sir. 

네, 신사분. 

Tex: Besides of reciting the mantra, what Dharma is there? I read the Sutra and explanation four or five times. Yeah. I didn't find anything. 

택스(사람이름): 진언을 외우는 것 말고 무슨 다르마가 있나요? 내가 그 경전과 강설을 4번인가 5번을 읽었습니다. 그런데 아무것도 찾지 못했어요. 

Master: There's a Medicine Master Buddha repentance. It's very limited nowadays. Okay.

마스터: 약사참법이란게 있습니다. 그게 요즘은 매우 제한적입니다. 

It's very good. The Medicine Master Buddha repentance. We've been preparing for it for two years now. We're not, still not done yet. Okay?

이 참법은 매우 좋습니다. 약사참법. 우리가 이걸 하려고 2년 동안 준비해왔습니다. 그런데 아직도 준비를 마치지 못했습니다. 

Okay. Anyway. So, what's the answer? 

오케이. 아무튼. 그래서 질문이 뭔가요?

She's still not done yet. 

그녀는 아직 말을 다하지 못했어요.

(아까 오랫동안 이야기한 베트남인 여성분이 계속 말한다)

Ah, she says that Medicine. Yeah. Medicine Master Buddha is perfect for greedy people like us!!! (People laugh all together)

아! 그녀가 말하길, 약사 부처님은 우리와 같은 탐욕스러운 사람들에게 완벽하다고 합니다. 

She says because Yeah. the Buddha knows that we are greedy. That's the way we are. And, and therefore he says, okay, if you're greedy, I allow you to be greedy. I help you be greedy. 

그녀가 말하길, 부처님은 우리가 욕심이 많다는 걸 알기 때문에, 우리가 원래 그렇기 때문에... 그러므로 부처님은, 그래 너희들은 탐욕스럽다. 내가 너희들이 그렇게 그냥 두겠다. 나는 너희가 욕심을 내도록 돕겠다. 

It turns out. It turns out it's true to a certain extent. 

이게 알고 보니. 어느 정도는 사실입니다. 

She also understands we are very greedy as well. 

그녀(관음보살)도 또한 우리가 매우 탐욕스럽다는 것을 이해합니다. 

And therefore, she also allows us to get promotions as well. 

그러므로 그녀도 우리가 승진할 수 있도록 허락합니다. 

You can also become rich. You can also get promotions as well. In fact, I used the Guanyin Dharma to get more money. And it worked. 

여러분은 부자도 될 수 있습니다. 승진도 할 수 있습니다. 사실 나는 관음법을 이용해서 더 많은 돈을 벌 수 있었습니다. 효과가 있었습니다. 

It's true. You do the Guanyin Dharma, you want money, you get money. You know, Knowing it full well, you're being greedy, it still works. 

그건 사실입니다. 여러분이 관음법을 행하면, 돈을 원하면, 돈을 법니다. 잘 알고 있으면서도, 탐욕이 있지만 그래도 여전히 효과가 있습니다. 

Okay? Alright. Anyone else? 

오케이? 좋습니다. 또 다른 사람?

Hmm. He says, he begs to disagree. He says, in Buddhism, it's to teach you not to.... to reduce our greed, to eliminate our greed. So if you say the Medicine Master Buddha Dharma encourages us to be more greedy. And isn't that against the principles of the proper Dharma? Okay? 

음. 그는 동의하지 않는다고 합니다. 불교에서 우리가 욕심을 줄이고, 욕심을 없애는 것을 가르치는 것인데, 약사불법이 더 욕심을 내게 해준다고 하면 그것은 정법의 이치에 위배되지 않겠냐고 말합니다. 

Ah, she has an answer. 

아! 그녀가 (거기에) 답이 있네요.

So she says that basically it's an expedient that, to it’s like give you, giving candies to the kids so that they pacify and then they are more obedient.

그녀는 이게 기본적으로 어린아이에게 사탕을 주는 것과 같은 방편이라고 말합니다. 그래야 아이들이 마음을 차분히 하고 더 잘 따를테니까요.

That is correct. 

그건 맞습니다. 

It's true that Medicine Master Buddha dharma can be used as an expedient to help living beings. 

약사불법이 중생을 돕는데 방편으로 사용될 수 있는 것은 사실입니다. 

That is correct.

그건 맞습니다. 

But what she says that you're greedy, you're greedy for the right thing like when I said I was greedy for money I got money because I wanted to help people. It's not quite true. 

하지만 그녀의 말로는, 여러분이 욕심이 많지만, 옳은 것에 욕심이 있는 겁니다. 그러니까 내(영화 스님)가 돈에 욕심이 있다고 말했던 것처럼, 나는 사람들을 돕고 싶어서 돈을 얻은 것이니까요. 그건 완전히 진실은 아닙니다. 

Okay. On the way as I started practicing, I wanted a big temple, I wanted a lot of money because money is power. A big temple is fame. 

내가 수행을 시작하면서, 그때 나는 큰 사찰을 원했습니다. 내가 많은 돈을 원했던 것은 돈이 힘이기 때문입니다. 큰 사찰은 명성입니다. 

Okay? So now I admit to you, that It's kind of embarrassing. 

알았나요? 이제 내가 여러분에게 인정합니다. 이건 사실 좀 창피한 일입니다. 

It's a good thing I didn't get much money or fame. Otherwise, I'd be in big trouble. Anyway. 

내가 많은 돈이나 명성을 얻지 못한 건 좋은 일입니다. 그렇지 않았다면, 큰 곤경에 처했을겁니다. 아무튼...

The gentleman's point is well taken. 

이 신사분의 지적도 잘 받아들여졌습니다.

In the spirit of that, (Vietnamese name) is correct. These Dharmas are basically expedients.

그런 생각에서 그가 옳습니다. 이 다르마들은 기본적으로 방편입니다.

Most important is for you to bring forth to faith, Okay?

가장 중요한 것은 여러분이 신심을 일으키는 것입니다. 알았나요?

Faith in what?

무엇에 대한 신심인가요?

And now a second question? What, faith in what? 

그리고 이제 두 번째 질문은 뭔가요? 뭐에 대한 믿음인가요?

Faith in money? 

돈에 대한 믿음?

The reason you have all these various tools, various Dharmas, all these Dharmas fundamentally are designed to help you get gains. 

여러분이 이런 여러 다양한 도구, 다양한 다르마를 가진 이유는, 이 모든 다르마들이 근본적으로 여러분이 이득을 얻기 위해서 고안된 것입니다.

Yes or no? 

그런가요, 아닌가요?

You practice all these because it's beneficial to you. 

여러분이 이 온갖 것을 수행하는 이유는 그게 여러분에게 이롭기 때문입니다. 

Yes? You meditate because it's good for you. You come here today because it's very good for you.

그렇죠? 여러분이 명상하는 것은 그게 여러분에 좋기 때문입니다. 여러분이 오늘 여기 온 것은 이게 여러분에게 매우 좋기 때문입니다. 

Okay? That's a simple fact. We practice it because it's very beneficial, Okay? And the more you understand, the more benefits you want to get.

그렇죠? 그건 간단한 사실입니다. 아주 유익하기 때문에 우리가 그걸 수행하는 것입니다. 더 많이 이해할수록, 여러분은 더 많은 혜택을 얻고자 합니다. 

Okay? So, this is natural. 

그래서 그건 자연스러운 것입니다. 

Okay? And, so, but if you're not careful, this greed can be very bad. 

하지만 여러분이 조심하지 않으면, 그 탐심이 매우 나쁠 수도 있습니다. 

If you don't practice properly, you just follow this greed here, you will get in trouble. Okay? 

만약 여러분이 바르게 수행하지 않으면, 여기 이 탐심을 그냥 따라가면, 곤경에 처하게 될 것입니다. 알았나요?

So, that's where faith comes in. 

그래서 거기서 신심의 역할이 있습니다. 

Faith in what? 

뭐에 대한 믿음일까요?

Faith in the guidance of your teacher. 

여러분 스승님의 지도에 대한 믿음입니다. 

Just I have total faith in the guidance of my master.

내가 나의 사부님의 지도에 완전한 믿음이 갖고 있어서,

100% for the last over two decades? Okay? I totally, I found out whatever he taught me is all correct. It's all good for me. 

지난 20년간 100% 믿었습니다. 알았나요? 나는 완전히, 그가 나에게 가르쳐준 것이 무엇이든 모든게 정확하다는 것을 알았습니다. 나에게 모두 좋은 일이었습니다. 

It's all beneficial for me. So, it's to my benefit to keep on listening to his advices, to have faith in him. 

나에게 모두 이로운 일이었습니다. 그래서 그의 조언을 계속 듣고, 믿는 것이 나에게 이익이 됩니다. 

The more faith you have, the more benefits you get. 

믿음이 더 많을수록, 여러분은 더 많은 이득을 얻을 수 있습니다.  

And so, the Mahayana have so many Dharmas that bring you so many different types of benefits. 

그래서 대승에는 여러분에게 다양한 종류의 이득을 가져다주는 수많은 다르마가 있습니다. 

Okay? So, yes, it's greedy. 

알았나요? 그래서, 네, 그건 탐심입니다. 

However, it's okay to be greedy to get more help from your teacher. 

하지만, 여러분의 스승으로부터 더 많은 도움을 얻으려는 탐심은 괜찮습니다. 

It's a very good thing. 

그건 매우 좋은 일입니다. 

It's a necessary part of cultivation. 

그건 수행의 필수적인 부분입니다. 

You need to use greed in your cultivation. 

여러분은 수행에 탐심을 이용해야 합니다. 

It’s very important. Greed is critical in order for you to become a Buddha. 

이건 매우 중요한 일입니다. 여러분이 부처가 되려면 탐심이 결정적입니다.  

You know what that is? Even Bodhisattvas are greedy for this. 

여러분 그게 뭔지 아나요? 보살들조차도 어떤 것에 대한 탐심이 있습니다. 

What is it? 

그게 뭘까요?

Hm? 

흠

What? Honesty! 

뭐라고요? 정직?

No, you don't need to be greedy for honesty. 

아니에요. 정직성을 탐할 필요는 없습니다. 

There's no need for greed for that. 

그건 전혀 탐할 필요가 없습니다. 

It's better not to be greedy for honesty. Trust me. 

정직성에 대해서 차라리 욕심이 없는게 낫습니다. 믿으십시오. 

What are Bodhisattvas greedy for? 

보살님들이 뭐에 욕심을 낼까요?

(People answer in Vietnamese)

Absolutely. 

그렇고 말고요. 

Bodhisattvas have many, many greeds. 

보살들은 탐심을 많이 많이 갖고 있습니다. 

It's embarrassing.

창피한 일입니다. 

Bodhisattvas are greedy to save all living beings.

보살들은 모든 중생을 구하는 걸 탐합니다. 

All living beings! They save a lot of living beings. They say this is not enough. I want to save more and more and more. 

모든 중생입니다. 그들은 많은 중생을 구합니다. 그리고 그게 충분하지 못하다고 합니다. 더 많이, 많이, 더 많이 구하고 싶다고 합니다. 

You have to save for mosquitoes even though they suck your blood.

여러분의 피를 빨아먹는데 그런 모기들도 구해야 합니다. 

So, they're greedy like heck. What else are they greedy for? 

그래서 보살들은 정말로 탐욕스럽습니다. 또 뭐에 욕심이 있나요?

They're greedy for? 

그들이 욕심을 내는게 뭔가요?

Learning. 

배움을 탐합니다. 

They're even more greedy than the intellectual. 

그들(보살들)이 지성인보다도 더 탐합니다. 

They want to learn all there is to learn. 

그들은 배울 수 있는 모든 걸 배우고 싶어합니다. 

Whether it's medicine, whether it's engineering, 

그게 의술이든, 엔지니어링이든 말입니다. 

They want to be an astronomer. They want, you know, they want to learn all kinds of Dharma doors. 

그들은 천문학자도 되기를 원합니다. 모든 종류의 법문(法門)을 배우고 싶어합니다.

Truly, you know, so greedy. Okay? 

정말이지, 참 탐욕스럽습니다. 

So, Bodhisattvas actually are so greedy. Okay?

그래서 보살들은 사실은 욕심이 많습니다. 

And it's necessary, as I said, Because it enables you to... 

그리고 그게 필수입니다. 내가 말했듯, 그게 여러분을 가능케 하기 때문에...

Enables you to progress further along, to get closer to Buddhahood. 

그게 여러분이 불도로 더 가까이, 더 멀리 진보하도록 가능케 하기 때문입니다. 

It's critical. 

결정적인 요소입니다. 

And when you get closer, you know what happens? This is a theory. 

여러분이 더 가까이 도달하면, 무슨 일이 생기는지 아시나요? 이건 그냥 이론입니다. 

I don't know. Because I'm no Buddha. 

나는 모르겠습니다. 난 부처는 아니니까요.

You listen to me. Use your brains. I'm known to exaggerate and lie. 

내 이야기를 듣고, 자기 두뇌를 쓰십시오. 내가 과장하고 거짓말하기로 알려졌습니다. 

Okay? Ask my disciples. They know me too well. 

알았나요? 내 제자들에게 물어보세요. 그들이 나를 아주 잘 압니다. 

I'm no Buddha. But I imagine that the Bodhisattvas may be very greedy. 

나는 부처가 아닙니다. 그런데 내가 상상하기로, 보살들은 매우 욕심이 많을 수 있지만..

Something naturally happens.

자연스럽게 무슨 일이 생깁니다. 

You know what happens? 

여러분은 무슨 일이 생기는지 아시나요?

Yes. 

네

Tony: No more greedy.

토니: 더는 욕심이 없나요?

How? Why does the greed disappear? Why? 

어떻게요? 왜 탐심이 사라지죠? 왜일까요?

Yes sir. 

네, 신사분.

(베트남인 남성분이 답한다)

He said, so many blessings. That's why. That's one way. 

그가 말하길, 복이 너무 많아서랍니다. 그게 이유랍니다. 그것도 한 방법이네요.

That's correct. You are so, have so many blessings. That naturally greed disappears. You have so much already. You don't need to be greedy anymore. Is it clear? 

맞습니다. 여러분이 복이 너무, 너무 많으면, 탐심이 자연스럽게 사라집니다. 여러분이 이미 가진게 너무 많으면, 더는 욕심을 부릴 필요도 없어집니다. 이해했나요?

None of you is that rich yet. That's why you don't know what I'm talking about. (Everyone laughs)

여러분 중 누구도 아직 그런 부자는 없습니다. 그래서 여러분은 내가 무슨 말을 하고 있는지 모릅니다. (모두 웃는다)

Don't give me any money. I have too much money. Just please no more. Okay? 

나한테 돈 주지 마! 내가 돈이 너무 많거든. 그러니 제발 더 주지 말아줘. 그런겁니다. 

So, that's true. One natural thing happens is that when you are so blessed, your greed disappears. 

그러니 그게 사실입니다. 한 가지 자연스럽게 일어나는 일은, 여러분이 너무 복이 많으면, 탐심이 사라집니다. 

Naturally, by itself. 

자연스럽게 저절로.

And what's another way?

그리고 또 다른 길은 뭔가요? 

Hmm? 

흠?

Audience: Wisdom.

청중: 지혜입니다. 

Yes. That's another way. What's another way? See? I don't know. I'm thinking as I'm talking. Okay? 

네. 그게 또 다른 길입니다. 또 다른 길은 뭔가요? 보세요. 나도 몰라요. 내가 지금 이야기하면서 생각 중입니다. 

Don't believe me. I'm telling you. Okay. Use your brains. Okay. 

나를 믿지 마십시오. 여러분에게 이야기해주고 있잖아요. 자기 두뇌를 써보세요. 

What's another way? Yes. 

또 다른 건 뭔가요? 네.

Audience: Service to others. 

청중: 타인을 돕는다.

Service to others. No. Ha ha. Ha ha ha ha. 

타임을 돕는다. 아니에요. 하하하하.

One way you don't know. 

이 하나는 여러분이 모르는 겁니다. 

You're so greedy at that point. 

여러분이 그 시점에서 너무 욕심이 많아서,

And you, when you are about to become a Buddha. You know what happens? Buddha appears.

여러분이 이제 막 부처가 되려고 할 때, 무슨 일이 생기는줄 아나요? 부처님이 나타납니다. 

He says, stop it idiot. Don't be so greedy. (People are laughing)

그러고는, 멈춰 이제. 바보야! 너무 욕심부리지 마! (사람들이 웃는다)

And when the Buddha appears at that time. When he talks to you. And naturally, you drop the greed immediately. 

그리고 그때 부처님이 나타났을 때. 그가 여러분에게 이야기를 할 때. 자연스럽게, 여러분은 즉시 탐심을 떨어뜨립니다. 

So you receive help from the Buddha. 

여러분이 부처님으로부터 도움을 받습니다. 

He says, you save enough living beings. You hear? (everyone laughs)

부처님이 이제 중생은 충분히 구했다. 들리냐?라고 하는 겁니다. (모두 웃는다)

Does it make sense? I think that's what's going to happen. 

말이 되나요? 나는 그렇게 될 것이라고 생각합니다.

Okay. It still remains. Today is running out of time. 

오케이. 아직도 (이야기가) 남았네요. 오늘은 시간이 다 되었습니다. 

Okay. So I need to wrap it up. 

그래서 이제 정리해야겠습니다. 

And it's a very lively discussion. 

매우 활발한 토론이었네요.

It is true. There are some things that Medicine Master Buddha has that other Dharmas do not. 

약사 부처님이 다른 다르마에서 없는 것들을 몇 가지 가지고 있는 게 사실입니다. 

For example, one very important one is.... It will restore your precept substance. 

예를 들어, 가장 중요한 하나는, 이게 여러분의 계체(戒體)를 회복해 줄겁니다. 

So when you break precepts, you use Medicine Master Buddha Dharma, you can restore your precept substance. 

그래서 계율을 어겼을 때, 약사불법을 사용하면, 계율의 체를 회복할 수 있습니다. 

Anyway, it's way too much for you.

아무튼 이건 여러분에게 너무 과한 이야기이네요.

It is way a lot more details than you care to know. 

이건 여러분이 알고자 하는 것보다 너무 자세한 내용이네요.

The one thing I can share with you. I understood recently out of necessity. Out of comparison. 

내가 여러분과 나누고자하는 하나는, 최근 필요성에 따라서, 비교하다가 이해하게 되었는데,

You know? when you call GuanYin because you're in trouble. 

아시나요? 여러분이 곤경에 처해서 관음보살님을 부를 때,

Yes? You say, I'm suffering. Please GuanYin help me. Okay? 

나는 괴롭습니다. 관음보살님 제발 도와주세요라고 말합니다. 

And it's not just GuanYin that turns out. You can also call for Earth Store Bodhisattva. Okay? 

그런데 그게 그냥 관음보살만이 아닙니다. 여러분은 지장보살님도 부를 수 있습니다. 

You can ask Earth Store Bodhisattva. You can ask Great Strength Bodhisattva. 

지장 보살님에게 물어볼 수 있습니다. 대세지보살님에게도 물어볼 수 있습니다. 

Okay? What matters is that whoever that you're accustomed to thinking when you're in trouble. When you ask, you receive help if you're sincere enough. 

중요한 것은 여러분이 곤경에 처했을 때, 생각하기에 익숙한 그게 누구든지 상관없이, 충분히 간절하다면 도움을 받을 수 있습니다. 

Okay? All the Bodhisattvas will help you. All the Buddhas will help you. 

알았나요? 모든 보살님들은 여러분을 도와줄 것입니다. 모든 부처님이 여러분을 도와줄 것이빈다. 

Okay. Don't need to discriminate. 

오케이? 분별할 필요가 없습니다. 

However, the difference between the Medicine Master Buddha Dharma and the other Dharma is this. 

하지만 약사불법과 다른 다르마의 차이는 이렇습니다. 

Medicine Master Buddha takes care of your needs whether you're aware of it or not. 

약사 부처님은 여러분이 필요한 것에 대해서, 여러분이 알고 있든 모르든 상관없이 돌봐줍니다. 

It's automatically taken care of for you. For example, if you are sick, it's way before the symptoms occur, way before the doctor's diagnosis it. Okay? The Medicine Master Buddha Dharma will eliminate it for you.

여러분이 그게 무엇인지 알 필요도 없습니다.

멋지지 않아요? 네? 나도 알아요.

아니요, 같지 않아요.

(Master explains about the Statues in Buddha Hall) He's back there. Oh, that Bodhisattva is great strength. And this is GuanYin. And that's great strength. Oh yeah. he's a problem solver. He quietly resolves problems behind the scenes.

그는 저 뒤에 있습니다. 오 그 보살은 대세지입니다. 그리고 이쪽은 관음보살입니다. 그리고 저쪽은 대세지입니다. 오 그래요. 그는 문제 해결사입니다. 그는 뒤에서 조용하게 문제를 해결합니다. 

So, for example, in particular, we have a lot of illness in our bodies. And the Medicine Master Buddha will resolve those issues before we even know it. One after another. 

그래서 예를 들어, 특히 우리 몸에는 질병이 많습니다. 그리고 약사 부처님은 우리가 알기도 전에 그 문제들을 해결할 것입니다. 하나씩 하나씩.

Okay? That's why. That's the difference.

You don't even need to ask for help. He helps you automatically. 

여러분이 도움을 청할 필요조차 없습니다. 그는 여러분을 자동으로 돕습니다. 

That's the difference. That's the biggest difference. 

그게 차이점입니다. 제일 큰 차이입니다. 

Okay? Hinayana doesn't have it. 

소승에는 그게 없습니다.

지난 11년의 경험에서 말입니다.

나는 그게 일어나는 것을 보았습니다. 멋지지 않나요?

Alright? That's why we're practicing it. I'm hoping that this Dharma more people take advantage. It's a wonderful, wonderful Dharma. 

알았나요? 그것이 우리가 이걸 수행하는 이유입니다. 나는 더 많은 이들이 이 다르마를 이용할 수 있길 바랍니다. 아주 훌륭한 다르마입니다. 

Because it does wonders for you.

Okay? And that's hope. I'm hoping that this Dharma is revived so that it can benefit even more and more people. 

그게 바로 희망입니다. 나는 이 다르마가 되살아나서 더욱 더 많은 이들이 혜택을 받을 수 있길 바랍니다. 

Because unfortunately it's disappearing in the Chinese and it's virtually gone in the Vietnamese Buddhism. 

왜냐하면 불행하게도 이 다르마가 중국인들에게서 사라지고 있습니다. 베트남 불교에서는 사실상 사라졌습니다.
