Made By only the PEOPLE
Water shortage is a serious situation over time. The population of developed countries is decreasing, but overall population growth, including developing countries, is progressing more rapidly than ever. This is because it is expected to reach 9 billion by 2050, with about 7 billion people already maintained. On the other hand, water resources have already been heavily used by the existing population, and the lack of water due to increased pollution and reckless abuse is now emerging as a regional security issue beyond the real matter.
Furthermore, thanks to the massive spread of the coronavirus, the already unresolved gap between the rich and the poor has widened, and earlier, mankind has not even resolved global drinking water. More than two-thirds are suffering from a shortage of drinking water. Among them, the difficulty of water shortage is increasing, and the gap between the rich and the poor, which has already been over-saturated, has now become an indispensable medium for representing the interests of the group.
The water shortage began in the late 20th century. It began to emerge as a serious problem in the 1980s, and became a global issue in the 1990s.However, even after the 21st century, humans used water resources indiscriminately, which now remains a big challenge for all living creatures in the global. What's more surprising is that human arrogance has led to environmental pollution and overuse of water resources, causing damage to other components of the Earth.
In total, the population is growing, water is disappearing, there is more polluted water than clean water, and the amount of water from Mother Nature can hold due to desertification and deforestation is decreasing even more rapidly.
However, the global society is currently unable to pay attention to water conservation and environmental improvement due to the virus crackdown. Even before COVID-19 reaches the pandemic, humans are making a very good excuse to treat water resources, but considering that overcoming the virus has alienated water resources and that waste disposal due to increased plastic use is ultimately becoming a problem for humans to secure drinking water.
It is not difficult to guess when you turn your head and see how people around you use public goods. Brushing your teeth with water on is only a very common example. Many companies and countries should say that they think what I'm doing will be fine if they mention what's been contaminated. That is, "the paradox of Giddens" is penetrating accurately, which means that the water we drink is decreasing over time. This means that if you pay taxes and turn on the faucet, you will soon face a time when no water comes out.
A bigger problem is that even in the 21st century, the shortage of drinking water will accelerate further, with all mankind not properly securing water. Ultimately, it should be considered highly probable that a water-resource war will result, and a country that does not have a large river will soon be doomed. Already, the Aral Sea in Central Asia has almost dried up, and South Africa has already been put on hold since the mid-2010s. On top of that, China also has a large population compared to securing water resources, and India is still a country that lacks average water and is still difficult to secure water. The U.S. has greatly abused groundwater to clear the desert, and the Amazon development is rapidly reducing Brazil's potential water resources.
That's not all. The ice caps are melting due to deepening climate change, and the temperature increase due to global warming is serious. There will be problems that are different from simply reducing carbon emissions and recognizing climate change. Rising temperatures have long melted the ice caps, which are expected to make securing water resources more important. Moreover, considering that the rising temperature makes the lake more likely to dry, the difficulty of securing the water we face is higher. Securing drinking water was crucial behind mankind's full-fledged establishment, starting with the four major civilizations. Now it would be fair to say that we are going back to "modern antiquity."
The rise in sea level due to this should also be faced. Assuming that all glaciers melt, some of the six continents are almost submerged. Already, Maldives in the Indian Ocean, Marshall, Nauru and Fiji in the Pacific Ocean have applied for a long-term asylum. However, it has not been decided where to go, and many other book countries are likely to hide their existence, and the time is getting shorter. Not only do coastal countries lose their territories due to the increasing sea, but they also have fewer places for humanity to live in. As I mentioned earlier, even considering demographics growth, will live in a narrower place. However, if drinking water is already reduced, the question of how many people can live in urbanized areas is indeed great.
Global warming will naturally destroy the undersea ecosystem, and what we can enjoy will naturally decrease. With the ecosystem already causing tremendous confusion beyond disruption on land, many members of the global community, including animals, have already lost their homes due to human-based standards, and are facing extinction beyond disappearing. If many animals and plants are given in the land and sea, naturally, people who are omnivores will have less food to eat, and the price of food we enjoy on a daily basis is expected to soar.
Considering that modern society is already a society that is anxious to speak ill of each other because it can be easily stained with anger, I think the confusion that will be caused by lack of drinking water have already been decided. In other words, it was not the first issue to be solved by one or two countries, not one or two societies, not one person or two people. But still, people are not active, showing no will, and there is no room for improvement. Now securing drinking water will be included in security issues, which will likely lead to a series of war-related news. Furthermore, the anger that individuals have will intensify, and everyone who becomes poor will be directly hit by the survival problem by securing water, not something else.
It's not that there's no way out. It may be possible to secure water resources through desalination. However, not only does it cost astronomical amounts of money, but it also takes a lot of time to become popular and reach daily life in a stable manner. If commercialized in the next 100 years, the story may change, but in the next 100 years we will face higher sea levels, higher temperatures, missing water resources, deeper environmental pollution, and destroyed ecosystems, unfortunately, the civil war, civil war and conflict mentioned earlier, will intensify. At this rate, before the development and commercialization of desalination technology, mankind cannot again separate itself from the immense inevitable tragedy of a great war. Well, considering that war is still being waged, it should be said that with water resources and health issues involved in security issues, there is a far greater possibility of an open war.
All mankind should put down their arrogance and self-righteousness toward the Great Nature and take action to protect nature and improve the environment. The results what we expected will be a lot more disastrous.
