77. What is a noun modifier?

명사를 꾸며주는 수식어에 대해 지도해보자. 명사를 꾸며주는 수식어에 대해 지도하기 전에 명사의 개념을 다시 한번 복습한 후에 지도한다.

Q: What is a noun? 명사는 뭐지?

A: Noun is a person, place or thing. 명사는 사람, 장소 또는 물건을 말한다.

Q: What is a noun modifier? 명사를 꾸며주는 수식어는 뭐지?

A: Noun modifier can describe the noun in the sentence. Preposition phrase and present participle(verb~ing) can be noun modifier. 명사 수식어는 문장에서 명사를 묘사한다.

For example, there was an old man in a boat. (preposition phrase) 예를 들면, 보트에 나이 든 남자가 있다.

Rhonda saw a spider crawling up the fence. (verb +~ing.) Rhonda는 담장을 기어가고 있는 거미를 보았다.

Q: What is a preposition? 전치사는 무엇이지?

A: in, on, under, out of, above, below, in front of, behind, next to, with…… and so on….; they are preposition.

‘in, on, under, out of, above, below, in front of, behind, next to with....’ 등등은 전치사다.

Q: What is a preposition phrase? 전치사구는 뭐지?

A: Preposition phrase is a group of words with preposition. 전치사구는 전치사를 가지고 있는 단어들의 모임이다.

in a boat, on a blanket, with a pail…… and so on…. ‘보트 안에서, 담요 위에서, 양동이를 가지고’.... 등등등.....

(Gesture: What is a noun? ‘noun’은 주먹을 쥔다. Noun is a person, place or thing.

‘person’은 손가락으로 자신을 가리키고, ‘place’는 두 손 끝을 모아 자신의 몸 앞에서 집의 지붕 모양을 만들어 준다. ‘thing’은 양손의 검지만 펴고 나머지 손은 접은 상태에서 검지로 바깥쪽을 향해 찌르듯이 포인트를 해 준다.

What is a noun modifier? ‘none modifier’는 먼저 왼손 주먹을 쥔 상태에서 바로 그 손에서 검지만 오른쪽을 향해 펼치면 된다.

Noun modifier can describe the noun in the sentence. Preposition phrase and present participle(verb~ing) can be noun modifier. ‘describe’는 주먹 쥔 왼손의 주의를 동그라미를 그려 주듯이 위에서 아래 돌 돌려준다.

What is a preposition? ‘preposition’은 알파벳 P를 만든다. 엄지, 검지, 중지를 펼치되, 검지와 엄지는 옆을 가리키게 하고, 중지는 아래를 가리키게 한다. 그리고 in, on, under, out of, above, below, in front of, behind, next to, with…… and so on….; they are preposition. ‘and so on’은 오른 손바닥을 왼쪽으로 향하게 세운 후 안쪽에서 바깥쪾으로 칼질하듯이 옆으로 진행한다.

What is a preposition phrase? ‘preaposition pharase’는 양손을 각각 알파벳 P를 만들어 주고 두 손이 마주 하게 하다. 알파벳 P는 엄지, 검지, 중지를 펼치되, 검지와 엄지는 옆을 가리키게 하고, 중지는 아래를 가리키게 한다.

Preposition phrase is a group of words with preposition. ‘group of words’는 한 손으로 만든 알파벳 W 모양을 만들어 위에서 아래로 손가락이 움직이며 왼쪽에서 오른쪽으로 진행한다.
