23. The location idiom 지도법

위치를 설명하기 위해 전치사를 쓰기도 하지만 이렇게 몇 개의 단어가 모인 숙어를 지도할 때 그림과 제스처를 활용해 말로 해보게 한다.

What are the location idioms? 무엇이 위치 관용 문구일까?

‘at the top of’, ‘at the bottom of’, at the side of, and in the middle of, they are the location idioms. ‘꼭 대기에’, ‘아래에’, ‘옆에’, 그리고 ‘가운데’를 위치 관용 문구(숙어)라고 한다.

For example, Jimmy is at the top of the stairs. 예를 들면, Jimmy는 계단 꼭대기에 있다.

Max is at the bottom of the stairs. Max는 계단 아래에 있다.

위치 관용구에 대한 표현을 다음과 같이 말할 수 있어야 한다. 비록 초급 과정이지만 내용을 이해하고 표현하는 연습을 통해 location, idiom, stairs 등의 단어들을 자연스럽게 알게 된다.
