71. What is an impersonal subject, it?

비인칭 주어 ‘it’에 대해 알아보자.

We use an impersonal subject, “it” to tell the weather, season, time, days, dates and distance.

우리는 비인칭 주어 ‘it’을 날씨, 계절, 시간, 요일, 날짜 그리고 거리를 말할 때 쓴다.

For example, 예를 들면

It is sunny. ‘it’ shows the weather. 날씨가 화창 하다. ‘it’은 날씨를 보여 준다.

It is winter. ‘it’ shows the season. 겨울이다. ‘it’은 계절을 보여 준다

It is 4 O`clock. ‘it’ shows the time. 4시다. ‘it’은 시간을 보여 준다

It is Friday 7th, October, 2022. ‘it’ shows the date. 오늘은 2022년 10월 7일 금요일이다. ‘it’은 날짜를 보여 준다

It is 20 kilometers from here. ‘it’ shows the distance. 여기에서 20킬로미터 떨어져 있다. ‘it’은 걸이를 보여 준다

결국, 비인칭 주어 ‘it’을 영어로 다음과 말할 수 있어야 한다. 말로 설명할 수 있는 지식만이 진정으로 자신의 것이 된다.
