32. 고루주변 지도, 꾸이지에 야식거리

고루(드럼타워) 주변의 이 지도는 내가 즐겨다니는 곳들을 표시하였습니다. 나는 여러분들이 밖으로 나가서 새로운 방향을 택하여 알려지지 않은 반전을 따라가 보기를 간청합니다. 그러다보면 본인이 가장 좋아하는 것들을 발견하게 될 것입니다.
The gentrification of the area is partly brought about by another kind of hutong dweller than the weasels, namely the Hutong Hipsters. These youthful, non-mainstream fashionistas are the drive behind the steady rise of vintage stores, coffee shops, craft beer breweries, specialty bookstores and even kombucha bars.
이 지역의 젠트리피케이션은 족제비와는 다른 종류의 후통족거주자, 즉 후통 힙스터에 의해 부분적으로 발생하고 있습니다. 이 젊고 비주류적인 패셔니스타들은 빈티지숍, 까페, 수제 맥주 브루어리, 전문 서점, 심지어 콤부차 가게 등을 통해 꾸준한 성장의 원동력이 되고 있습니다.
This is the restaurant Huda 胡大 [hú dà] on Ghost Street 鬼街 [guǐ jiē]. The street is considered a foodie's heaven with countless establishments, some of which are open 24/7, offering dazzling array of delicious food, snacks and drinks. The attraction of all these delicacies results in huge crowds which prompted 胡大 to open five branches on this street alone to satisfy the demand and fill the bellies.
후따(胡大)라는 이 식당은 꾸이지에(귀가/귀신거리)에 위치합니다. 이 거리는 일주일내내 24시간 영업하는 많은 식당들로 인해 음식 천국으로 일컬어지며, 맛있는 음식, 간식, 음료들의 눈부신 배열들을 제공합니다. 이 모든 맛있는 음식들의 매력은 엄청난 인파를 끌어들였으며, 이 때문에 후따는 이 거리에만 다섯 개의 지점을 열어 수요를 충족시키고 배를 채웠습니다.
The name of the street is said to originate from the many businesses that were selling funeral coffins long ago. Others say that in the past, the bustling night market on Ghost Street was crammed with stalls using dimly lit lamps, which created an eerie effect of shadowy figures dancing around in the dark of night.
이 거리의 이름은 오래 전에 장례식 관을 팔던 수많은 가게들에서 유래되었습니다. 어떤 사람들은 과거에 꾸이지에 거리의 북적거리는 야시장이 희미하게 켜진 램프를 이용한 노점들로 가득 차서 어두운 밤에 그림자 같은 형태들이 춤추는 것과 같은 섬뜩한 효과를 냈다고 말합니다.
Later the sinister street name was changed to Food Vessel Street 簋街 [guǐ jiē]. The pronunciation is the same, but now the meaning is more in line with the boisterous atmosphere created by the scores of customers enjoying treats from all corners of China.
이후에 이 으스스하고 불길한 거리 이름은 꾸이지에(귀신鬼와 발음이 같은 簋)라는 음식 용기 거리로 바뀌었습니다. 발음은 같지만 이제는 중국 구석구석에서 온 수많은 미식가들이 만들어내는 떠들썩한 분위기에 더 부합하는 의미가 되었습니다.
Gui is a type of bronze round-mouthed food vessel used in ancient China.
꾸이(簋)는 고대 중국에서 사용된 청동으로 된 둥근 입구의 음식 담는 용기입니다.

리우바가 그린 지도 상의 지역은 나도 참 좋아하는 지역이다. 베이징 시내 한가운데 후통을 제대로 느낄 수 있는 지역이며, 걷기에 최적이다. 고루부터 난뤄구샹, 우다오잉후통까지 다양한 매력이 넘쳐난다. 실제 거주자들의 모습도 정겹고, 힙한 식당과 까페들 구경도 흥미롭다. 그래서 나는 시간 날때마다 후통 걷기를 하며 찐 베이징을 느껴본다.
