Dear Summer #04

I Summer you

Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence.

H.L.Mencken. Do I know him?-No.

Still, I used to memorize this quote when I was in the high school. I loved how 'triumph' 'imagination' or 'intelligence' sound like. I loved their acute impression. But did I really understand the meaning? Well, at that time I was only a clumsy schoolgirl.

Still now a full digestion is impossible. How can a 20-year-old girl who only had lived two decades of life can fully understand love in one hand? In terms of Erotic type of love, the age from 20s to 30s might be an exact time to explore and learn, though difficulties may exist while embracing. When people break up, their hearts also break up.

What was I talking about?-oh yes. So this is what happened yesterday. In the midst of night when I was munching cereals, he called me and I spent the whole night doing nothing but talking to each other...for 8 hours. Yes, 8 hours. When we hung up the phone-after another 30 minutes of great hesitation and stuttering-the sun was already on the sky, birds chirping cheerfully. Then I realized I was on the phone too long. Surprisingly I was feeling good. I felt refreshing instead.

Looking at each other from faraway sometimes feels like hide-and-seek. You try to find his/her, and the other does the same. Step by step, we get closer. When the distance gets too close to play another game, one 'intentionally' falls down on the other and begin the relationship. When we are deciding to fall or to be fallen, the process is more like a role play than an ad-lib. If I'm going to fall on him, he knows it already-and so does in opposite. In other words there's no point of doing this. But we can't help us doing it over and over, even when everything gets little dull and tired. As long as we are in love, nothing really matters.
