해시태그에 touch의 개념이, tag-

어제 역병 epidemic 어원 demo에 대해 알아봤다. 오늘도 신종 코로나바이러스의 전염성에 대한 뉴스가 넘쳐나는 만큼 관련 단어를 공부해보자. 사람간의 전염이 있다고 할 때 contagious 단어를 사용한다. contagious를 가만히 보면 tag가 눈에 들어 온다. 우리가 해시태크, 태그 할 때 그 tag다.

tag의 뜻은 touch다. 단어에 따라 tac, teg로도 쓰인다.

contagious : (사람간의) 전염성이 있. con(together) + tag(touch) + ious : 사람들이 서로 접촉하면서 생기는 현상이다.

integrate : 통합시키다. (다른 문화권 출신 사람이 어떤 사회 구성원으로) 통합되다.

in(not) + teg(touch) + rate : in은 안 뜻으로 사용될 때도 있지만 not으로 사용되기도 한다. 처음 이 단어를 봤을 때 왜 not의 in 일까 했는데 사전에 따르면 integrate이 예전에는 whole이라는 뜻이 있었단다. 즉, 더 이상 손 댈게 없다는 뜻. 따라서 통합이라는 의미는 이미 하나가 되었다는 뜻에서 나온 것.

intact : 온전한, 전혀 다치지 않은. In(not) + tact(touch) : 단어 그대로 손 대지 않은 상태다. Keep intact 하면 손대지 않고 그냥 두다라는 의미이니 이 단어는 단어 그대로의 뜻이다.
