call you up VS call you

"I'll call you later"은  이따가(나중에) 전화할게. 는 뜻이죠.

회화에서 많이 듣게 되는,  "I'll call you up later"는 무슨 뜻일까요? -up-이 들어갔는데 조금이라도 차이가 있지 않을까요? Chat GPT에게 물어봤습니다.

The phrases "I'll call you later" and "I'll call you up later" essentially convey the same meaning, but there's a slight nuance in tone:

1. "I'll call you later": This is a straightforward and commonly used phrase. It simply means that the speaker will make a phone call to the person at a later time.
2. "I'll call you up later": Adding "up" in this context is more casual or informal. It doesn't significantly alter the meaning, but it might imply a bit more informality or friendliness in the tone. "Call you up" is a more colloquial way of saying "call you." It's often used in casual conversation.
In essence, both expressions suggest that the speaker intends to make a phone call to the person at some point in the future. The difference lies mainly in the level of formality or informality and the tone conveyed.

I'll call you에 비해 "I'll call you up"은 좀 더 친근한 늬앙스를 전달하는군요.

두 표현 모두 일반적으로 쓸 수 있지만 좀 더 친한 사이라면, 그리고 내 표현을 확장하고 싶다면 "I'll call you  up"표현도 써보면 좋을 것 같습니다.
