교회 지도자의 자격 | Leadership in the Church
1-7
어떤 사람이 교회의 지도자가 되고자 한다면, 그것은 좋은 일입니다!
If anyone wants to provide leadership in the church, good!
그러나 그 전에 갖춰야 할 조건이 있습니다.
But there are preconditions:
지도자는 평판이 좋으며, 아내에게 헌신하며, 침착하며, 붙임성 있고, 남을 따뜻하게 맞아 주는 사람이어야 합니다.
A leader must be well-thought-of, committed to his wife, cool and collected, accessible, and hospitable.
그는 잘 가르쳐야 하며, 술을 지나치게 좋아하지 않으며, 난폭하지 않고 너그러우며, 쉽게 화를 내지 않으며, 돈을 사랑하지 않는 사람이어야 합니다.
He must know what he's talking about, not be overfond of wine, not pushy but gentle, not thin-skinned, not money-hungry.
또한 자기 일을 잘 처리하며, 자녀들을 세심히 돌보며, 자녀들의 존경을 받는 사람이어야 합니다.
He must handle his own affairs well, attentive to his own children and having their respect.
자기 일조차 제대로 처리하지 못하는 사람이 어떻게 하나님의 교회를 돌볼 수 있겠습니까?
For if someone is unable to handle his own affairs, how can he take care of God's church?
신앙을 가진 지 얼마 되지 않은 사람이 교회의 지도자가 되어서는 안됩니다. 그가 그 직분으로 말미암아 자만해져서 마귀의 발에 걸려 넘어질 수 있기 때문입니다.
He must not be a new believer, lest the position go to his head and the Devil trip him up.
또한 교회의 지도자가 되려는 사람은 세상 사람들로부터도 좋은 평판을 받아야 합니다. 그래야 마귀의 함정에 빠지지 않을 것입니다.
Outsiders must think well of him, or else the Devil will figure out a way to lure him into his trap.
8-13
교회에서 섬기는 사람이 되려는 이들에게도 똑같은 기준이 적용됩니다.
The same goes for those who want to be servants in the church:
섬기는 이들은 신중하며, 남을 속이지 않으며, 술을 흥청망청 마시지 않으며, 그저 얻는 것에만 관심을 갖는 사람이 아니어야 합니다.
serious, not deceitful, not too free with the bottle, not in it for what they can get out of it.
또한 믿음의 비밀 앞에 경건하며, 자신의 직분을 이용해 이익을 도모하지 않는 사람이어야 합니다.
They must be reverent before the mystery of the faith, not using their position to try to run things.
먼저, 그들 스스로 자신을 증명해 보이게 하십시오. 그것이 입증될 때, 그들에게 일을 맡기십시오.
Let them prove themselves first. If they show they can do it, take them on.
여자라고 해서 예외가 아니며, 똑같은 자격 요건을 갖춰야 합니다.
No exceptions are to be made for women-same qualifications:
신중하며, 신뢰할 만하며, 입이 험하지 않으며, 술을 지나치게 좋아하지 않는 사람이어야 합니다.
serious, dependable, not sharp-tongued, not overfond of wine.
교회에서 섬기는 이들은 배우자에게 헌신하며, 자녀들을 세심히 돌보며, 부지런히 자기 일을 살피는 사람이어야 합니다.
Servants in the church are to be committed to their spouses, attentive to their own children, and diligent in looking after their own affairs.
이 섬김의 일을 하는 사람들은 큰 존경을 받으며, 예수를 믿는 믿음의 참 자랑거리가 될 것입니다.
Those who do this servant work will come to be highly respected, a real credit to this Jesus-faith.
14-16
나는 곧 그대에게 가기를 바라지만, 지체될 경우를 대비해 이렇게 편지를 써 보냅니다. 그 이유는, 그대가 살아 계신 하나님의 교회이자 진리의 요새인 하나님의 가족 가운데서 일을 어떻게 처리해야 하는지 알려 주려는 것입니다.
I hope to visit you soon, but just in case I'm delayed, I'm writing this letter so you'll know how things ought to go in God's household, this God-alive church, bastion of truth.
그리스도인의 삶은, 우리의 이해를 훨씬 넘어서는 위대한 비밀이 아닐 수 없습니다. 다음 몇 가지 사실은 너무도 분명합니다.
This Christian life is a great mystery, far exceeding our understanding, but some things are clear enough:
그 분은 사람의 몸으로 나타나시고
보이지 않는 성령에 의해 의롭다고 인정받으셨으며
천사들에게 보이셨습니다.
He appeared in a human body,
was proved right by the invisible Spirit,
was seen by angels.
모든 사람 가운데 선포되므로
온 세상이 그분을 믿었고,
그분은 하늘 영광 속으로 들려 올라가셨습니다.
He was proclaimed among all kinds of peoples,
believed in all over the world,
taken up into heavenly glory.
