중력과 은총(Gravity & Grace)

땅의 법칙과 하늘의 법칙

- 영혼의 자연스러운 움직임은 모두 물질세계의 중력법칙과 유사한 법칙들에 의해 지배된다. 은총만은 예외다.

- 초자연이 개입하는 경우가 아니라면 모든 일들은 중력에 따라서 진행된다는 것을 언제나 예상하고 있어야 한다.

- 두 가지의 힘이 우주를 통치하고 있다 - 빛과 중력.

두 가지 힘

시몬느 베이유의 말처럼 , 우주에는 두 가지 원리가 있다.

그것은 중력과 은총이다.

또 우주에는 두 가지 힘이 있다.

그것은 빛과 중력이다.

사실상 원리나 힘은 같은 이야기인 것 같다.

빛은 곧 은총을 말하기 때문이다.

태초에 "빛이 있으라"하여 빛이 있었다.

중력의 법칙이 발생하기 전에 은총이 먼저 있었다.

중력의 법칙은 땅에서 일어나는 일이라면 은총은 하늘에서 일어나는 일이다.

그렇다고 해서 땅에서는 중력의 법칙만 일어나고, 은총이 없다는 말이 아니다.

이 땅에 사는 사람은 중력의 법칙과 이 중력의 법칙을 넘어서는 은총(빛)으로 살아간다.

스티븐 호킹 박사는 자신의 마지막 저서, [Brief Answers to the Big Questions]에서

"우주에는 중력밖에 없다"

고 하였다.

물론 그의 의도는 우주에서 일어나는 일이 중력에만 그치는 것이다라는 뜻은 아닐 것이다.

만일 우리가 그의 말을 문자 그대로 해석하여 진짜 우주 안에는 중력밖에 없다면, 즉 빛(은총)을 배제한다면 어떻게 될까?

그의 명제를 인간사회에 그대로 적용해 보자.

남녀 간에 중력의 법칙만 있다면, 자석의 S극과 N 극이 만나면 예외 없이 착착 달라붙듯이, 모든 남자와 여자는 만나는 즉시 달라붙어 이런저런 복잡한 사고를 치게 되어 있을 것이다.

그렇다면, 거기에는 사랑도, 미움도 없고, 윤리와 도덕도 없는 성욕만이 존재하는 관계가 될 것이다.

호킹박사의 명제에는 우주를 설명하면서 중력을 강조하느라, 암흑물질이 있고 암흑에너지의 존재를 배제하는 것은 아닐 것이다.

중력의 법칙은 우주에서 모든 물체를 서로 끌어당기는 물리 법칙으로, 우주의 형성에 큰 역할을 한다.

그렇지만 암흑물질은 눈에 보이지 않는 물질로, 중력의 영향력을 발견할 수 있지만 빛을 방출하지 않는 물질이다.

암흑에너지는 암흑물질과 비슷한 특징을 가지고 있지만, 중력 외의 힘을 통해 우주의 팽창 속도를 빠르게 만드는 역할을 한다.

이러한 개념을 함께 설명함으로써, 우주의 이해를 더욱 포괄적으로 이해할 수 있습니다.

그렇다고 해서 중력의 법칙 외에 암흑물질과 암흑에너지를 은총의 영역에 둬야 한다고 단정할 수는 없다.

그것도 물리적인 법칙이니까.

그런데 암흑물질과 암흑에너지는 사람의 마음, 그리고 사람들 간의 관계를 닮았다.

우주 안에 물리적 세계와 영적 세계

"영혼의 자연스러운 움직임은 은총을 제외하고는 물질세계의 법칙과 유사한 법칙에 의해 지배된다"는 Simonne Weil의 진술은 우주의 모든 것이 중력 및 기타 물리 법칙의 지배를 받는다는 생각을 강조한다.

은혜나 신성한 개입을 제외하고. 이 진술은 또한 우주를 지배하는 두 가지 근본적인 힘인 중력과 빛이 있음을 상기시킨다.

중력이 물리적 세계를 지배한다면 빛은 영적 세계를 지배한다.

우주의 기능에 역할을 하는 암흑 물질 및 암흑 에너지와 같은 다른 보이지 않는 힘이 있다.

그러나 사랑, 미움, 공감, 연민은 모두 중력의 법칙을 초월한 인간의 경험 안에 존재한다.

결론적으로 Simonne Weil의 진술은 중력과 물리 법칙이 자연계를 지배할 수 있지만 작용하는 유일한 힘은 아니라는 점을 상기시켜 준다.

우주는 물리학 법칙만으로는 설명할 수 없는 미지의 불가해한 현상으로 가득 차 있다.

마찬가지로 인간관계와 상호 작용은 중력의 법칙만으로는 설명할 수 없다.

Laws of the Earth and Laws of the Sky

The natural movements of the soul are all governed by laws similar to the laws of gravity in the material world. Grace is the exception.

- Unless the supernatural intervenes, it should always be expected that all things proceed according to gravity.

The two forces

In the words of Simone Bayeux, there are two principles in the universe.

They are gravity and grace.

There are also two forces in the universe.

They are light and gravity.

In fact, principles and forces are the same thing.

For light is grace.

In the beginning, God said, "Let there be light, " and there was light.

Before the law of gravity occurred, there was grace.

The law of gravity is something that happens on earth, while grace is something that happens in heaven.

This is not to say that the law of gravity is the only thing that happens on earth and that there is no grace.

Those who live on earth live by the law of gravity and the grace (light) that transcends the law of gravity.

In his last book, Brief Answers to the Big Questions, Dr. Stephen Hawking wrote

"There is nothing in the universe but gravity"

Of course, he didn't mean to imply that gravity is the only thing that happens in the universe.

What if we take his statement literally and say that there is nothing but gravity in the real universe, which excludes light (grace)?

Let's apply his proposition to human society.

If there were only the law of gravity between men and women, all men and women would stick together as soon as they met, just as the S and N poles of a magnet stick together without exception.

If so, there would be no love, no hate, no ethics, no morals, just lust.

Dr. Hawking's thesis emphasizes gravity to explain the universe, but it does not exclude the existence of dark matter and dark energy.

The law of gravity is the physical law that attracts all objects in the universe to each other, and it plays a huge role in the formation of the universe.

Dark matter, however, is invisible to the eye, meaning that it does not emit light, although its gravitational influence can be detected.

Dark energy has similar characteristics to dark matter, but is responsible for accelerating the expansion of the universe through forces other than gravity.

By explaining these concepts together, we can get a more comprehensive understanding of the universe.

This is not to say that dark matter and dark energy should be left in the realm of grace in addition to the law of gravity.

They are laws of physics.

But dark matter and dark energy resemble the human mind, and the relationships between people.

Physical and spiritual worlds in the universe

Simonne Weil's statement that "the natural movement of the soul is governed by laws similar to those of the material world, except for grace" emphasizes the idea that everything in the universe is governed by gravity and other physical laws.

This statement also reminds us that there are two fundamental forces that govern the universe: gravity and light.

If gravity governs the physical world, then light governs the spiritual world.

As humans living in the physical world, we cannot deny the existence of grace or divine intervention in our lives.

Simone Bayeux emphasizes that just as the law of gravity governs our physical world, grace and divine intervention can affect our spiritual world.

It is through grace that we can experience unexplained events or coincidences that change the direction of our lives.

When considering the laws of gravity and their impact on our lives, it is important to note that they are not the only forces that govern our world.

There are other invisible forces, such as dark matter and dark energy, that play a role in the functioning of the universe.

These forces transcend our current understanding and operate beyond the law of gravity.

Similarly, in human society, we cannot rely solely on the law of gravity to explain our relationships and interactions with others.

If the law of gravity were the only force governing our relationships, we would be reduced to mere physical beings with no sense of morality or ethics.

But love, hate, empathy, and compassion all exist in the human experience that transcend the law of gravity.

In conclusion, Simonne Weil's statement reminds us that while gravity and the laws of physics may govern the natural world, they are not the only forces at work.

The universe is full of unknown and enigmatic phenomena that cannot be explained by the laws of physics alone.

Similarly, human relationships and interactions cannot be explained by the law of gravity alone.

We must embrace the unknown and recognize that there are forces beyond our current understanding that shape the world we live in.
