What is your biggest goal in life?

When I was young, maybe the first grade in high school, the friend of my father took me to my appointment place by his car on the way to his home after visiting my father at home. In the car, he asked me "what's your goal in your life?" I answered him very clearly "I want to be a lady who speaks English very fluently." I don't know why it was my goal. But anyway I tried many ways to reach that goal. Finally, I entered a foreign company as a secretary to the American boss. Because of the high salary, the competition rate was fierce for foreign companies at that time. It was very difficult to receive work orders over the phone, but I did it in the end. Now it was a long time ago story. When I was pregnant with my first son, I decided to quit my job. Because I thought it was more important to take care of my son than working at the office. And quite a bit of time has passed. So, what I'm trying to do now is not to become more fluent in English, but to try not to forget English.

ㄱ. 이상하다. 분명히 전에 학년도 학교도 in을 쓴다고 첨삭받았던 것 같은데. 안 되겠다. 밤이 늦었고 귀찮지만 그래도 찾아보자. 뒤적뒤적. 그럼 그렇지!!! 찾았다! 이럴 수가! 지난번엔 내가 of라고 쓴 것을 in으로 바꾸어 놓더니 이번엔 in이라고 쓴 것을 of라고 바꾸어 놓았다. 음. 첨삭이라고 완벽한 게 아니구나. 어느 게 맞는 걸까? 둘 다 맞는 걸까? 우쒸.

ㄴ. 따옴표 앞에 콤마, 콤마가 몇 개가 되어도 또 콤마. 나는 사실 앞에 콤마가 있으므로 또 쓰기 그래서 생략했는데 몇 개가 되어도 따옴표 앞에는 반드시 콤마를 찍도록 한다.

ㅈ. So 다음엔 콤마를 붙이지 않는다. 하. 이것 참 미치겠다. 언제는 So 다음엔 반드시 콤마를 붙이라 한 것 같은데 어디는 붙이고 어디는 안 붙여야 되는 것일까. 모르겠다. 그냥 외우자. 우쒸.

BECAUSE

If you prefer to start a sentence with because, make sure that you have the main clause. We can only start a sentence with because if its pattern is: because + dependent clause + main clause. Or you can write This is because or It is because to start a sentence.

BECAUSE는 반드시 종속절에 써야만 하는구나. 그렇지 않고 그냥 쓰려면 반드시 This is because 또는 It is because로 시작해야 되는구나. 아하.
