Why are manners important? Can manners affect your success in life? How?
<내가 쓴 글>
I joined one of the top 10 Korean groups as a new employee. The chairman of that group was very sick, so they invited a psychic from the Philippines to treat him. They did it in secret because he wasn't a medical doctor, but he was a kind of superstitious psychic. He brought his girlfriend, and he needed a woman to shop with and spend time with during his treatment, and that was me, a freshman on the PR team, just out of college. The chief of staff gave me about 3 million won and told me to spend it all with her. About 40 years ago, 3 million won was a lot of money. How could I spend such a big money with her in only one day? When the day was over and I reported to the chief of staff, I poured all the remaining money even coins on the table in front of the chief of secretary. It was only later that I realized that it wasn't good manners. It should have been well organized and calculated. If I had kept my manners at that time, I think I could have succeeded more.

The chief of staff gave(OR: provided) me about 3 million won and told me to spend it all with her. About 40 years ago, 3 million won was a lot of money. How could I spend such a big(OR: sizable) money with her in only one day? When the day was over(,) and(X) I reported (that incident) to the chief of staff, I poured all the remaining money(,) even coins(,) on the table in front of the chief of secretary. 1. sick를 강조할 땐 very 보다 severely를 써야 하는가 보다. The chairman of that group was severely sick...
They did it in secret(OR: surreptitiously) because he wasn't a medical doctor, but he was a kind of superstitious psychic.
2. 비밀리에를 간단히 in secret라고 했는데 내가 잘 모르는 단어로 고쳐준다. surreptitiously 새 단어 외우자. They did it surreptitiously because he wasn't a medical doctor...
surreptitiously 몰래, 남모르게, 은밀히
He brought his girlfriend, and he needed a woman to shop(BETTER: go shopping) with and spend time with during his treatment, and that was me, a freshman on the PR team, just out of college.
3. 쇼핑하러 간다고 go를 붙여줘야 하는구나..... a woman to go shopping with...
The chief of staff gave(OR: provided) me about 3 million won and told me to spend it all with her. About 40 years ago, 3 million won was a lot of money.
4. 돈을 주다 간단히 give동사를 썼는데 회사에서 제공해준 거니까 그래 provid 가 더욱 적절한 표현이겠다. The chief of staff provided me about 3 million won...
How could I spend such a big(OR: sizable) money with her in only one day?
5. 큰돈이라고 big money 했는데 또 새 단어가 나왔다. 싸이저블 하하 아 꽤 많은 상당한 돈 그런 뜻으로는 다음부턴 이 단어를 써야겠다. 싸이저블. How could I spend such sizable money with her in only one day?

9. 앗. 이건 그쪽의 실수 아닐까? 단수라면 a good manner 가 되어야 하고 복수라면 그냥 내가 쓴 대로 good manners가 맞지 않을까? a good manners는 아니지 않은가? 뒤 복수에서 s 빼는 걸 잊은 걸까? a good manner라고 쓰길 원했던 걸까?... it wasn't a good manner.

Tip:
1. Introductory phrases
When starting a sentence with a dependent clause, use a comma after it.
Example: If you are not sure about this, let me know now.
Follow the same policy with introductory phrases.
Example: Having finally arrived in town, we went shopping.
독립적인 절이나 구로 문장을 시작한다면 반드시 콤마를 찍어줄 것.
2. Past Unreal (Third Conditional)
- used for past counterfactuals: “If World War II had not happened…”
-often used to express regret or mistakes
Pattern: If [noun] + had [past participle] + (,) + [noun] + would have [verb]
Example:
If I had gone to the party yesterday, I would have met many people.
past participle 과거분사
학창 시절 정말 많이 외웠던 가정법! 바로바로 실제 일어난 일과 반대의 일을 상상하는 가정문. 이때 원칙을 그토록 외웠었는데 다시 기억하자. If 명사 had 가정법 과거, 명사 would have 동사. 후회나 실수를 표현할 때 한다했지. If I had gone to the party yesterday, I would have met many people.
