춘래불사춘 春來不似春
프란치스코 추기경께서 교황敎皇으로 부임하신지 얼마되지 않았을 때, 바티칸시국 성베드로광장에서 부활절 미사를 집전하시는 먼 발치에서, 그리고 성베드로 성당 안 바로 앞에서, 나는 그 분의 진지하고 온화한 얼굴을 볼 수 있었습니다.
최근 2014년 한국을 찾으셨을 때, 세월호 유족에게서 받은 노란 리본을 계속 달고 계셨다고 합니다. 주변에서 정치적 중립을 위해 떼는 것이 어떠시냐고 조언을 하니, “인간의 고통 앞에 중립은 없습니다.”라고 하셨습니다.
2015년 교황께서 미국을 방문해 노숙자들과 함께 식사하는 자리에서, 예수님의 마굿간 탄생을 이렇게 표현하였습니다. “하느님의 아들도 이 땅에 노숙자로 오셨습니다.”
힘들고 가난한 사람들을 위한 교황님의 자비로운 마음에 존경의 마음을 가지지 않을 수 없습니다. 주가가 조금만 춤을 춰도 뉴스에선 난리지만, 길거리에서 노숙자들이 죽어가는 일은 그 누구도 관심을 가지지 않는 이 시대의 아픔이자 슬픔입니다.
종교를 떠나 우리들 역사적 어느 시대에서도, 우리들 보편적인 마음은 바른 길을 향해야 하지 않을까 생각해보는 꾸리꾸리한 대한민국의 하루입니다.
봄은 이미 왔지만 봄같지 않은 오늘, 어디로 가야 할까요?

✔︎ Spring has come, but it is not like spring.
When Cardinal Francis started his new post as a Pope shortly after, from a long distance in the St. Peter’s Square of Vatican City where he presided over the Easter Mass, and just in front of him in the St. Peter's Basilica, I had an opportunity to see his sincere and mild face.
Recently in 2014 when he came to Korea, he was still putting on a yellow ribbon given by a family of the deceased in Sewolho ferry. Someone advised him how about you to take it off to get around for political neutrality, he says “There is no neutrality in the face of human suffering."
When the Pope visited the States in 2015 and at the site where he ate food with the homeless, he described the birth of Jesus Christ at a barn like this. "The Son of God also has come to this land as a homeless.”
I can not but have respect for the Pope’s merciful mind for the somebody hard and poor. Even when the stock price fluctuates a bit, it has too much attention in news, but it is the sorrows and pains in this age that nobody does interest about homeless who has been dying on the streets.
At any time of our historic age apart from religion, it is just such a gloomy day in the Republic of Korea for us to think that our universal minds have to be for the right path.
Spring has already come but it is a day not like a spring, where should I go today?
