Why Sneakers Sapiens?

   Humanity has evolved into shoe sapiens over the past 2,000 years. While it evolved into a primate of walking upright, mankind pretended not to know the fact. Human beings who migrated during the ice age survived the severe cold with shoes. Is it because shoe sneakers brands have been buzzing the world since the end of the 19th century, and we are soaked in the marketing of footwear brands? Sneakers have become so common that they struggle to ignore the development of their precious culture and modern civilization. However, the sneakers were the winners of the great Odyssey trip and those who knew its revolutionary myth became enthusiastic enthusiasts.

   Since the modern Olympics, mankind has expanded the sports territory and territorial waters of the global village like a war by popularizing the maximum athletic power. The revolutionary weapons of modern history given to the opposition of mankind over the past 200 years have been sneakers, sneakers, and have been the winners of all shoe wars in the modern world. 

 Before the birth of the sneakers, the soul of the sneakers began with independence, the popular revolution, and the rubber revolution. In the 1700s, mankind had to survive, for the most part, the age of brutal imperialism, the age of slaves and masters, and the age of revolution. At that time, the Americas were a time when those who had shoes and those who did not lived as owners and slaves. Landlords and slave owners were able to command. They are commanders on horseback in boots, a symbol of power. Black slaves, especially in the United States, had to survive the brutal period. They didn't have shoes. Even if there were, the humble and tearful generosity given by the owner could be worn out until one pair a year. Until the late 18th century, shoes were still the fashion of the haves, the beautiful aristocracy of white people who secured human rights. Shoes for the people began to emerge in the late 18th century. 

   This is a love story about the evolution and revolution of sneakers for discovering humanities and its history.  I wrote <Sneakers Sapience>, a great story in the same title of the book.

인류는 지난 2000여년간 신발사피언스로 진화되었다. 직립이족보행의 영장류로 진화하면서도 인류는 그 사실을 모르는 척 시치미를 떼었다. 빙하시대 이주하던 인류는 혹독한 추위에서 신발과 더불어 살아남았다. 19세기말부터 신발 스니커즈 브랜드들이 세상을 떠들썩하게 했고, 우리는 브랜드들의 마케팅에 젖어버렸기 때문일까? 스니커즈가 너무 흔해져서 그 소중한 문화와 현대 문명의 발전을 애써 무시하게 되는 시대가 되었다. 하지만, 스니커즈는 위대한 오디세이 여행의 승자였고 이의 혁명적인 신화를 아는 사람들은 열광하는 매니아가 되었다.

인류는 근대 올림픽 이후 극대화된 운동력의 대중화로 지구촌의 스포츠 영토와 영해를 전쟁처럼 넓혀왔다. 지난 200여년간 인류의 대항해에 주어진 근대사의 혁명 무기는 스니커즈, 운동화였고 현대 세상의 모든 신발전쟁에서 승자가 되었다.

스니커즈 탄생 이전 스니커즈의 영혼은 독립, 민중혁명과 고무혁명이 함께 시작되었다. 1700년대 인류는 대부분은 잔혹한 제국주의 시대, 노예와 주인의 시대 그리고 혁명의 시대를 살아남아야 했다. 그 시절 아메리카 대륙은 신발을 가진자와 그렇지 못하자가 주인과 노예의 신분으로 살던 시기였다. 지주들, 노예들의 주인들은 권력의 상징인 부츠를 신고 말을 타고 지휘관으로 호령할 수 있었다.

특히 미국의 흑인노예들은 그 잔혹한 시기를 살아남아야 했다. 그들에게는 신발이 없었다. 있었다 해도 주인이 주는 보잘 것 없고 눈물겨운 아량으로 1년에 한 켤레가 닳아 없어질 때까지 신을 수 있었다. 18세기 후반까지 신발은 여전히 가진자들, 사람다운 권리를 확보한 백인들의 아름다운 귀족들의 패션이었다. 민중을 위한 신발들은 18세기 후반에 드러나기 시작하였다.

  이 책은 인문학과 그 인류의 역사를 발견하기 위한 스니커즈의 진화와 혁명에 관한 사랑 이야기다. 

나는 <스니커즈 사피엔스>라는 책의 제목으로 이 위대한 이야기를 적었다.
