공항가는 길-

여기... 공항맞아? 정감가는 몽골 칭기스칸 국제공항

어색한 미소 너에 뒷모습

처음 상기된 너에 얼굴 이젠
익숙한 공항으로 가는길

불안한 마음과 그 설레임까지도
포기한 만큼 너 더이상 쓰러지지 않도록
또 다른 길을 가야겠지만 슬퍼하지는 않기를
새로운 하늘 아래 서있을 너 웃을수 있도록

언젠가 우리가 얘기 하던 그때가 그때가 오면

한때 열심히 들었던 '공항가는 길'이라는 노래는 공항에서의 감정을 적절한 멜로디와 가사로 표현했다.

저 한 줄 한 줄이 다 내가 느꼈던 그것들이었다.

영영 헤어지는 것도 아닌데, 공항에서 헤어질라 하면 괜시리 눈시울이 뜨거워진다. 그러면 울지 않으려 어색하게 웃으며 얼굴을 기괴하게 찡그리고 주위를 막 둘러보곤 했다.

그런데 때로는 누구의 배웅도 없이 혼자 공항을 갈 때가 있다. 그럴 때면 나는 영락없는 멍청이가 된다.

다른 시차와 날짜를 고려하는 것이 아니더라도 평범한 일상에서 미리 공연을 예매하거나, 비행기나 기차를 예매할 때면 잠자고 있던 나의 덤벙거림과 멍청함이 극대화 되어 뿌왘!!!! 하고 등장하는 것이다.

이런 저런 상황에서 놓친 비행기와 기차를 세기에는 열개손가락으로는 부족하다. (잊고 있었던 사건이 하나 둘 씩 계속 떠올라서 세다가 그만뒀다. 젠장) ... 이런 극단적인 사건을 제외하고서라도 공항에 가면 정말 이상하게 어떤 이유가 억지로 막 생겨서라도 눈에서 눈물이 나거나 온몸에서 물이 나왔다.

음, 그래서 나는 공항을 별로 좋아하지 않는다. 비행기를 타는것도 싫어한다. 제발 남북통일이 되서 기차로 혹은 차로 세계를 여행할 수 있는 날이 오면 좋겠다.

The song 'The Way to the Airport', which I once listened to hard, expressed the feelings at the airport with proper melody and lyrics.

Every single line in that song was the feelings I felt.

It is not a break up forever, but sometimes I get tears when I leave someone at the airport. Then I laughs awkwardly to avoid crying, frowning and pretending to look around.

Sometimes, however, there is a time to go to the airport alone without anybody's leave. When I do, I become the best idiot in the world.

Even if I do not consider the time difference and date of another country, my stupidity will appear to maximize when I pre-order performances, airplanes, and trains in ordinary daily life.

If I count the number of planes and trains that missed in such a situation, it will not be able to get 10 fingers. (Damn!) ... Except for these extreme cases, when I go to the airport, it is really strange that somethings happend for some reason to cry in my eyes or get water from my body.

Well, I don't like the airport. I hate getting on an airplane. I hope that South Korea and North Korea will be unified so that we can travel around the world by train or car.

그런데 이런 나에게 몽골의 공항은 그리 나쁘지 않았다.

왜냐고?

칭기스칸 국제공항은 매우 아담한 사이즈로 강남고속버스터미널보다도 작은 사이즈를 자랑하기 때문이다. :D

The airport in Mongolia was not so bad for me.

Why?

Chinggiskhaan International Airport is a small size. : D

하얀 대리석이 광활하게 깔린 공항에서 인터넷을 찾아 게이트를 찾아 사방팔방 뛰어다니다 보면 무거운 백팩과 내 다리가 그렇게 원망스러울 수가 없다. 게다가 공항에서 심심하게 대기하고 있는 온갖 국적의 사람들에게 시뻘건 얼굴로 땀을 뻘뻘 흘리며 '네!! 맞습니다. 제가 바로 그 공항 멍청이 입니다! 아아아ㅏ악!!!!'라고 광고하고 다니는건 그리 유쾌한 일은 아니었다.

칭기스칸 국제공항 정면삿

칭기스칸 국제공항은 처음 몽골에 입국할 때 한번, 그리고 귀국하는 단원들을 배웅하느라 세번 다녀왔다.

몽골으로 들어올 때에는 워낙에 여러가지 일들이 많이 있기도 했고, 비행기도 2시간 정도 연착이 되는 바람에 여기가 몽골인지도 모르게 들어왔다. 비행기에서 내려 가건물 같은 통로를 지나 입국수속을 하고 짐을 찾아 나오는 길이 당시 기분으로는 300m도 채 안됐던것 같다.

So far I have been to Chinggiskhaan International Airport four times.

When I came to Mongolia, there were a lot of things to do, and the flight was delayed about two hours, so I came here without knowing it was Mongolia. It felt like it was less than 300m from the plane and out of the airport.

1층 입국장에서 짐을 들고 나오면 바로 공항 밖으로 나가는 출구가 보인다. 아직 출국을 해보지 않아서 면세점을 직접 보지는 못했는데, 들어본 바에 따르면 보드카와 캐시미어 등의 아주 소소한 물건들을 판다고 했다.

여느 다른 국제공항 면세점을 상상해서는 안됐다.

공항 1층에는 탐앤탐스 카페가 있다. 한국이랑 메뉴가 꽤 비슷한데 가격도 비슷했던 것 같다. 이 말은 몽골 물가로 보면 너무 비싸다는 뜻. 그러나 공항에서는 다른 선택권이 많지 않기 때문에 공항에서 즐기는 사치라 하며 잘 이용하고 있다.

When you carry your baggage at the arrival desk on the first floor, you can see the exit to the airport. I haven't been able to see the duty-free shops because I can't go out of the country yet. According to what I've heard, it sells very small things like vodka and cashmere.

You can't imagine any other international airport duty-free shop.

And there's Tom & Tom's cafe on the first floor of the airport. The menus are quite similar to Korea, and the prices seem to be similar. This means that coffee prices are very expensive in Mongolia. However, since there are not many other options at the airport, I always go to Tam & Tams.

2층 출국장으로 들어가면 역시나 들어가는 게이트는 하나. 저 문으로 나가서 출국수속 절차를 밟아야 한다. 그래서 당사자가 아니면 나갈 수 없고, 보통은 출국수속을 마치고 다시 나와서 남은 시간을 기다리다가 떠난다.

들어오는 문도 하나, 나가는 문도 하나. 그리고 끝과 끝을 볼 수 있을 정도의 규모에 꽤 정감이 갔다.

If you enter the 2nd floor departure hall, there is one gate to enter. You have to go out to that door and go through the immigration procedure.

Usually, people finish the departure procedure, come out again and wait for the remaining time.

One incoming door, one outgoing door. And I was quite impressed with the scale that can see the end to the end.

배웅을 마치고 돌아가는 길, 2층 옆 난간에서 사람들이 하늘을 보고 있었다.

떠나는 비행기를 보고 돌아가려고 하는 것 같았다. 뭔가 찡한 느낌이 드는 모습이었다.

한국-몽골 직항 비행편은 대한항공, 몽골항공(MIAT), 에어부산이 있다.

대한항공과 몽골항공은 공동운항을 하고 있어서 2016년 에어부산이 몽골 취항을 하기 전까지는 거의 독점이었다고 봐도 무방하다. 그래서 3시간 30분의 짧은 비행거리에도 몽골항공권은 보통 왕복 60만원에서 성수기에는 100만원 까지도 올라간다. (태평양을 건너가는 미국도 비성수기에는 왕복 60만원에 다녀오는데!!)

왜 아시아나는 취항을 하지 않는가 물어봤더니 몽골에 오래 살았던 지인의 말로는 대한항공이 몽골 정부에 로비를 참 많이 한다고 한다. 그래서 아직까지도 다른 항공사가 들어오지 못했다고 한다. ㅉㅉ

비행기 가격을 낮춰야 관광객들이 더 많이 놀러와서 소비를 많이 할텐데!!

칭기스칸 국제공항은 활주로 방향이 하나밖에 없어서 바람이 잘못된 방향으로 불면 이착륙이 어렵다고 한다.

그래서 그만큼 비행기 연착이 빈번하게 일어난다.

대한항공과 같은 국적기는 그나마 연착이 길어야 2~3시간인데, 에어부산처럼 작은 비행기는 길면 10시간 이상 연착이 되기도 한다고 한다. 그래서 항공권을 예매할 때, 시간적인 여유가 없는 사람은 조금 돈을 더 주더라도 대한항공을 타고 오라고 이야기 한다.

앞에서도 이야기 했지만, 종모드 근처에는 후식트 훈디(Khushigtiin khundii) 신공항이 건설되고 있다.

지금 칭기스칸 국제공항이 울란바토르와 종모드의 한가운데 위치해 있다면, 신공항은 종모드에서 15km정도 더 들어간 곳에 지어지고 있다. 공항 건설과 관련해서 공항에서 일하던 한국 기술자 여러명이 종모드에 살다가 공사 막바지에 다다른 지금은 1~2명이 남아서 마무리 작업을 하고 있다고 한다.

신공항이 건설되면 그 주위에 신 종모드를 구성해 새로운 도시를 조성한다는 계획도 있었으나, 현재 몽골의 상황으로 봐서는 앞으로 몇 십년은 지나야 가능 할 것 같다는 의견이다.

또 이와 별개로 공항이 건설되면 가장 가까운 종모드에 유입되는 사람들이 많아지면서 경제활성화에 도움이 되지 않을까라는 생각을 했었다. 그러나 지금 울란바타르에서부터 신 공항까지 중간에 있는 커다란 산봉우리들을 바로 넘을 수 있는 다리를 건설하고 있기 때문에 종모드로는 사람들의 유입이 많지 않을 것이라고 한다. 흠-

현재 중국 회사가 들어와서 다리를 건설하고 있는데 그 속도가 매우 빠르다. 울란바타르로 나갈 때마다 창 밖 풍경이 급격히 변하고 있다.

개항 시기가 계속 늦어 지고 있는데, 귀국하기 전에 신공항을 한 번 이용해 봤으면 좋겠다.

5월이 조금 지나니 여름철 몽골 비행편을 아무 찾아도 없다!! 겨우 오는 것은 몇번씩 경유해서 열 몇시간, 24시간 이상 걸리는 여정 뿐이다. ㅠㅠ

아는 지인을 통해 들은 꿀팁이 있다 :)

몽골 항공편은 항상 일찍 마감이 되기 때문에 보통 5월 말이나 6월 초순에 항공기 증편(?)을 논의하고 언제 몇편을 더 운항할 것인지를 결정한다고 한다. 그래서 그 전에 미리 여행사에 전화해서 예약을 하면 나중에 증편된 비행스케줄에 따라 티켓을 끊을 수 있다. 그래서 지인도 9월 말 항공권을 구매할 수 있었다. (다른 일행은 한달 전 60만원대에 발권, 이 지인은 여행사에 예약해서 69만원에 샀다)

There are three Korean-Mongolian direct flights: Korean Air, Mongolia Airlines (MIAT) and Air Busan.

Since Korean Air and Mongolia Airlines are co-operating here, Korean Air was selling Mongolian air tickets in Korea in monopoly until 2016 when Air Busan was in service in Mongolia. Therefore, even in the short flight time of 3 hours and 30 minutes, the Mongolia air ticket usually goes up to from 600,000 won to 1 million won during high season.

I asked why Asiana Airlines is not in Mongolia, and some people said that Korean Airlines has a lot of lobbying in Mongolian politicians. So, another airline company can't worked here in Mongolia.

At Chinggiskhaan International Airport there is only one direction of the runway, so it is difficult to take off and land if the wind blows in the wrong direction.

That is why flight delays are frequent.

A big airplane like Korean Air is about two or three hours long when it is delayed, and a small plane like Air Busan is delayed for more than 10 hours if it is long. So when booking tickets, those who don't have a lot of time should choose Korean Air even if they pay a little more money.

As mentioned before, a new airport Khushigtiin khundii is being built near zuunmod.

Chinggiskhaan International Airport is located in the middle of Ulaanbaatar and zuunmod, and the new airport is built 15km further from zuunmod. Several Korean engineers who worked at the airport were living in zuunmod, and when they reached the end of the construction, only one or two people are now working on the finishing work.

When the new airport was constructed, there was a plan to create a new zuunmod city. However, considering the present situation in Mongolia, it will be possible in the next few decades.

Also, when the airport was built, I thought that many people will visit zuunmod, because it's the nearest city, and it would helpful to city economy. But now government building bridges that can cross the huge mountain peaks that are midway between Ulaanbaatar and the new airport. So, there will not be much inflow into the zuunmod. Hmm-

Currently, a Chinese company builds the bridgeat a very fast pace. Every time I go out to Ulaanbaatar, the landscape outside the window is rapidly changing.

The opening period is being delayed, and I would like to use the new airport once before returning home.
