I had lived in this house for a very long time, through countless seasons.
Every corner of the house held traces and memories of the time I spent here.
As the day to leave drew near, I went through all of my belongings while tidying up the house
I gave away the items that were still usable to neighbors who needed them.
For the rest of the clutter, I asked my daughter to throw it all away for me.
"I won't need anything in my new home, " I told her with a peaceful smile, holding her hand. "This time, I only need to bring myself, and the thought of taking nothing else makes me feel light and at ease."
That night, as usual, I turned off the lights and lay down feeling the familiar pain.
Suddenly, the room grew warm and bright.
When I opened my eyes, an angel of soft light stood quietly beside me
"Are you ready now? It is time for us to depart together, " the angel of light said gently.
"Yes, I am ready. I’ve been waiting for you, " I whispered with a faint smile.
My heavy, aching body remained on the bed like an old, discarded coat.
I was no longer a traveler with heavy bags. My spirit was light enough to fly.
As I drifted upward into the endless light, I felt truly free for the first time.
I was moving toward my true home, where I wouldn't need a key or an address.
