일곱 번째로 소개드릴 작품은 <홍루대주>입니다.

한여름의 대낮에 한때 잘 나간 듯 보이지만 현재 영업하지 않는 기방에서 한량들이 한 명의 기생을 불러다 놓고 술을 기다리는 광경입니다. 앞에 놓인 세 켤레의 신발로 보아 갓을 쓰지 않은 남자는 이곳의 주인으로 보이고 왼쪽 편에서 벌거벗은 여자아이 손을 잡고 들어오는 나이가 있어 보이는 기생은 이 기방의 안주인으로 보입니다. 술을 밖에서 구해오는 이유는 아마도 이제는 영업을 하지 않는 기방이기에 그런 듯 보입니다. 아니면 현재의 '세계주류백화점'과 같은 곳이 있었을까요? ㅎㅎ

함께 들어오는 아이의 옷을 벌거벗겨 여자아이임을 드러내었는데 이곳에서 태어난 아이의 미래를 암시하는 듯한 광경으로 해석하기도 합니다. 《혜원전신첩》30점의 작품에 붙은 네 글자의 제목들이 무명의 지은이로부터 만들어져 출처가 불분명하다 보니 제목이 잘못 붙었다는 지적도 많습니다. 중국에서 기루를 분류하던 '청루'와 '홍루'가 바로 그것인데 '홍루'는 유흥업소, '청루'는 풍류가 있는 주점과 같은 기능을 했다고 하네요... 그렇다면 여기서의 '홍루'가 잘못된 이름일 텐데 조선시대에는 딱히 '청루', '홍루'의 구분은 없었다고 합니다.

The seventh piece I'm introducing is "Hongrudaeju". It depicts a scene in the bright midday of a summer, unfolding in a once-thriving but currently closed tavern. In this setting, men have summoned a courtesan to the non-operational tavern, eagerly awaiting drinks. The man without a hat, inferred from the three pairs of shoes in front, appears to be the owner of the place. On the left, a courtesan, holding hands with a naked young girl, seems to be the hostess of this tavern.

The reason for fetching alcohol from outside might be the current non-operational status of the tavern. Alternatively, could there have been something akin to today's liquor store?

Revealing that the entering child is a girl adds another layer to the interpretation, hinting at the future of a child born in this place. The titles of the 30 works in the "Hye-won jeon-sin-jeop", attached by an unknown author, have led to criticisms of unclear origins, possibly resulting in incorrectly assigned titles. In China, the categorization of entertainment places as 'Chungru(a blue roof)' and 'Hongru(a red roof)' is interesting, with 'Hongru' serving as an entertainment venue and 'Chungru' functioning as a pub with entertainment. However, during the Joseon Dynasty, there wasn't a clear distinction between the two.

재해석 작품은 박종대 기자의 "4단계 길어지자 새 풍속도...'4명 낮술 모임'"이라는 수원뉴시스의 2021/8/9의 기사를 바탕으로 제작하였습니다. 그림에서는 코로나가 한창일 2021년 여름, 거리두기 4단계 방역조치로 낮시간에 네 명의 회사원들이 낮술을 하려 기다리는 모습입니다. 메뉴 아래의 연예인들의 싸인으로 보아 맛집으로 소문이나 대목을 잡던 고깃집으로 보입니다. 서빙은 아주 흐뭇한 표정의 로봇이 도와주고 있습니다.

The reinterpreted piece is based on the article "As the 4th stage lengthens, new customs emerge... 'Daytime Drinking Gathering' of 4 People" by Park Jong-dae, a reporter from Suwon Newsis, dated August 9, 2021. In the illustration, set in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic during the summer of 2021, four office workers are depicted waiting to engage in daytime drinking, adhering to the Level 4 social distancing measures. The signatures of celebrities below the menu suggest that the place is a popular barbecue restaurant that had gained fame. Serving is assisted by a smiley robot.
