The U.K. inflation rate soared to a 30-year high in December as higher energy costs, resurgent demand and supply chain issues continued to drive up consumer prices.
영국의 물가 상승율(인플레이션)이 12월 기준 30년 만에 가장 높은 수준으로 치솟았다. 에너지 값 상승과 수요의 회복, 그리고 공급망 문제가 계속해서 소비자 물가 상승을 이끌었다.
Inflation hit an annual 5.4%, its highest since March 1992 and up from 5.1% in November, itself a decade high.
물가 상승율은 10년 중 가장 높은 수준인 연 단위 5.4%를 기록했다. 이는 1992년 3월 이후 가장 높은 수치고, 11월의 5.1% 수준을 넘는다.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.5%, outstripping economist projections for a 0.3% climb.
월 단위로는 소비자 물가는 경제 전문가의 예상치였던 0.3%을 상회하며 0.5% 상승했다.
