미국 대학 인터뷰 예상 질문 및 답변
해마다 신기록을 세우고 있는 미국 대학 입시 경쟁에서 그 무엇 하나 놓칠수가 없다.
지원자는 문서로 제출하는 모든 대입원서는 물론 직접 만남으로 본인을 보여줄 수 있는 인터뷰 기회를 잘 활용해야 한다.
잘 준비된 인터뷰를 통해 지원자의 인간적인 면모를 보여줌으로써 대입원서에서 드러나는 것 이상으로 지원자의 성격에 대해서도 파악할 수 있기 때문이다.
모든 대학이 인터뷰를 입시의 한 요소로 실시하는 것은 아니다. 그러나 엘리트 대학 중 상당수는 필수 또는 선택 사항으로 인터뷰를 진행한다.
인터뷰 의사를 밝힌 지원자는 일반적으로 대학 관계자 또는 동문과 온라인 또는 오프라인 인터뷰를 갖게 된다. 지원자는 인터뷰어의 질문에 대한 답변과 본인의 질문도 전략적으로 준비해야 한다.
인터뷰어가 어떤 질문을 할지 정확히 알 수는 없다. 그러나 예상 가능한 질문을 생각하고 어떻게 답변할지 준비해야 한다.
미국 교육정보 기관 코세라 (Coursera)는 5가지 유력한 인터뷰 질문과 샘플답변을 다음과 같이 소개했다.

답변: More than any other person, my mother has had the most influence on me to this point. She developed rheumatoid arthritis before I was born, and she has dealt with her many challenges with strength, courage, and grace. When my life gets challenging, I try to follow her example.

답변: If I could change one thing about my academic past, I would have taken more writing courses in high school. I've really come to appreciate the importance of good writing skills for school and work, so I've picked out several writing courses I plan to take while I'm here.
