카랑코에 핀나타(판푸티)

오늘 소개할 식물은 카랑코에 종류에 속하는 것으로 Bryophyllum, Panfuti, 기적의 잎사귀, 생명의 식물, 괴테 플랜트(웬 괴테?), 카랑코에 핀나타라는 잎사귀에서 또 다른 자구가 생기는 식물입니다. 한국에서는 어떻게 칭하는지 모르겠는데 인도에서는 판푸티라고 찾으니 아마존이나 너서리라이브등에서 판매하고 있습니다.

올해 초인가 작년말에 옆집 말리들이 왔기에 모르는 식물 이름 물어보다가 우리 집에 없는 것을 발견하게 되어 한 잎사귀를 얻어왔습니다. 그런데 참 신기합니다. 좀 있으니 잎사귀에서 아가(자구)가 나옵니다.

(손바닥 반정도의 큰 잎사귀 하나를 얻어왔는데 잎 전체에 자구를 만들더라고요... 지금도 여기저기 어린 자구들이 뒹굴고 있습니다)

옆집은 어찌 된 탓인지 그 화분에서 크게 자라던 것들이 다 죽어버렸는데 우리 집에 들고 온 한 잎사귀에서는 자구가 이십여 개 이상 만들어졌어요. 신기, 신통방통하지요?

사실 말리와 말이 잘 안 통해서 잎사귀를 심으면 카랑코에처럼 한참 있다가 옆에서 자구가 날줄 알았지요... 그런데 한 잎사귀에서 촘촘히 자구가 달리고 또 이것들이 저절로 떨어져서 한 개체를 만드는 것을 보니 이름 그대로 기적의 식물이라고 하겠습니다.

인터넷으로 찾아보니 마다가스카르가 원산지고 고혈압, 신장결석에 좋은 효능이 있다고 하네요. 어딘가에는 암과 염증에도 효과가 있고 두통도 완화된다고 합니다. 특히 남자들 방광염으로 고생하는 분들에게 잎사귀로 만든 차가 특효라 합니다.(구박사 참조)

이 식물을 통해서 삶에 끈질김을 배울 수 있습니다. 어느 날 예쁘게 자란 판푸티가 물을 많이 줘서 그런지 가운데가 물러졌습니다. 버리려다가 혹시나 해서 입사귀를 옆의 화분에 놓아두었지요.

꽃도 핀다고 하는데 아직 일 년이 안되어서 기대는 못하겠습니다. 자라는 것을 보면서 기쁘고 공기정화는 덤입니다.ㅎ

인터넷으로 더 찾아보니 이름이 왜 기적의 식물인지 알겠습니다. 너무 많은 효능이 있습니다. 영어 공부하는 셈치고 한번 쭉 읽어보세요. 저도 지금 알았는데 비료주고 해서 빨리 잘 키워야 하겠습니다.ㅎ

부작용으로 혹시 아스피린을 복용하는 분이 있으면 아스피린 효능을 낮출수가 있다고 합니다.
