* 한 제약사에서 개발한 특정한 약을 부를 때 a brand-name drug라 하고 같은 성분을 사용해 같은 효과를 주는 약품을 a generic drug라고 한다. 예를 들어 '아세트아미노펜' 계열 진통제 중 '타이레놀'이 a brand-name drug라면 같은 성분의 다른 이름의 진통제들이 a generic (drug)라고 할 수 있다.

prescribe : 약을 처방하다.
