1988년 영국 북런던 토트넘에서 태어난 아델, 그녀는 어릴 적 미혼모였던 어머니 밑에서 자라났다. 그녀는 한 번도 보컬 트레이닝을 받은 적이 없었다고 한다. 어릴 적 자신이 좋아하는 가수의 음악을 들으며 혼자 노래를 불렀던 것이 전부였다. 무명에 가까웠던 그녀는 2011년 전 세계로부터 폭발적인 인기를 얻으며 가수로서의 엄청난 성공을 하게 된다.
그녀의 음악 중에 ‘Hello’는 사랑했던 연인의 헤어진 후의 마음을 담은 노래이다. 영혼을 위로해주는 듯한 아델의 음색은 듣는 이로 하여금 마음에 커다란 위안을 준다.
