우리는 언제나 결정을 하며 살아간다.

이 시 중 내가 가장 좋아하는 부분은,

'두 명의 아이 중에서는 / 둘 다를 선택하라 / 

더 작은 악행과 더 큰 악행 중에서는 / 둘 다 선택하지 말라'이다.

 

흑과 백 사이에는 무수히 많은 회색이 존재한다.

선택도 이것 아니면 저것이 아니라, 수많은 가능성이 존재한다.

 

부디 나의 결정들이 지혜롭고 따뜻하고 올바르기를...

희망과 절망을 제대로 구분할 수 있기를...

choose the one who needs you more.

Between the lesser and the bigger evil

choose neither.

Between hope and despair

choose hope:

it will be harder to bear.
