영화 - "로켓맨"

우스꽝스러운 화려한 의상 뒤의 엘튼 존 모습을 보여주는 뮤지컬 영화.

눈도 귀도 즐거웠고, 특히 유어 송을 작곡하는 장면, 수영장에서의 로켓맨 장면이 인상적이었다.

같은 감독이기 때문인지 보헤미안 랩소디와 비교되는데, 나로서는 로켓맨이 더 재미있었다. 보헤미안 랩소디에는 프레디 머큐리와 똑같은 배우, 퀸과 비슷한 공연(특히 라이브 에이드에서의 '라디오가가'), 프레디가 부른 듯한 익숙한 노래가 있지만 드라마가 없는데, 로켓맨은 그 반대랄까.

곡 '로켓맨' 가사가 심금을 울렸다.

영화에서 엘튼 존이 버니 토핀과 warwick avenue station 앞에서 이야기하는 장면이 나오는데, duffy 의 곡 'warwick avenue'가 생각났다. 이 곡 가사에서도 '지하철 입구에서 만나자'는 표현이 나오는데, 이곳이 영국인들에게 뭔가 의미가 있는 곳인가, 아니면 그저 '성수역' 느낌인건가.
