겁쟁이들은 요동치는 자유의 바다보다 독재의 고요함을 좋아한다. 오늘의 문제는 모든 역사를 통하여 알 수 있듯이 똑같다. 개인에게 스스로를 통치할 권한이 주어질 것이냐 아니면 소수의 엘리트에게 지배를 받게 할 것이냐의 문제다. 진정한 애국자는 정부로부터 국가를 지켜내는 사람이다. 우리가 안정을 성취하려고 자유를 버릴 때, 우리는 둘 다 잃고 그 어느 것도 누리지 못한다.
