驚蟄 [10] / [20]
Alexander didn’t say anything, just listened to him babbling on in his drunken rant.
“I think Anna is quite suitable for me. Well, I don’t want just safety. I need some excitement to keep the fire alive. But I’m not sure how Anna would be in bed,”
he smirked.
“Remember this Ed, Anna is your coworker. If you act improperly towards her, you might get in really terrible trouble,”
Alexander said gravely. Ed spat on the ground.
“I don’t want to take her forcefully. I want her to be seduced by my traits. But I think you've already taken her away for yourself,”
Ed glanced at Alexander.
“You’re a lucky man. She told me she just admired you as a good mentor, but I don’t think so. Obviously there's more to it. And that’s exactly what I want from her.”
Alexander said nothing again. If Ed already made his own decision, it didn't matter how hard Alexander persuaded him to seek help.
“By the way, I’m glad you`re dating Cynthia. Anna might give you up then or she has to fight with Cynthia.”
He laughed. Alexander felt uncomfortable listening to this kind of story with Cynthia dragged into it. He already knew that Ed is the sort of guy who wants to show off for women around him, but it was even worse.
For some reason, he was very used to hiding his own feelings since he was a youth, no matter who his counterpart was. Therefore, he definitely wouldn’t let how he feels be revealed to anyone. Even in this case, to Ed. There are various kinds of thoughts within the mind of each person. If he excludes anyone thinking differently from him, he would be alone. He knew this, so he just listened without complaining about those things that made him feel unpleasant, even downright disgusted.
When they got inside, a bottle of whiskey was open and lying empty on the table. Cynthia was completely stone drunk leaning on the table chair, barely half conscious, and almost looking like she was about to drop to the floor. Anna was nowhere to be seen.
Ed and Alexander searched everywhere in the house, and found her in the bathroom. She was leaning her head on the bathtub, and sitting on the floor. Alexander shook her, but there was no reaction. She seemed to have passed out.
It was a mess. Alexander sighed deeply. He could deal with Cynthia. But what about Anna? Cynthia, who could take care of Anna as a female coworker, was completely out of it, and the only one there who could do anything else was Ed. But how could Alexander leave Anna to Ed? After everything Ed already said about Anna, Alexander felt uneasy. Ed was standing near the threshold of the bathroom where Anna and Alexander were, staring at Anna.
