위안부 할머니들이 자발적 매춘부라고?!
Recently Harvard Law School professor J. Mark Ramseyer published his thesis that the comfort women(위안부=sexual slavery) are voluntary prostitutes in order to make money during the second World War.
Many historians and Koreans were angry at the news. Even Ramseyer spent his youth in Japan, and in 2018, he was awarded the Wookil Order, the third of six Japanese government medals.
“위안부(comfort woman-> sexual slavery) were not prostitutes who volunteered to make money, but teenage girls who were taken by the colonial Japanese government.
They were sexual slavery under the Japanese army in places such as China, Southeast Asia during World War II. There are Korean, Chinese, even Dutch sexual slavery victims suffering from the Japanese army.
Now what sexual slaveries want is not money. But they want Japanese government to admit the crime and receive an apology.
However, the Japanese government refuses to admit its wrongdoing and says comfort women were voluntary prostitutes.
But If the Japanese government's claims are true, why Japanese military tried to get rid of the records of sexual slavery when they lost the second world war and retreated ? Japanese government after losing the war, burned the records of the sexual slavery and killed many sexual slaveries. Or Japanese army disguised comfort women as nurses and made them work at the army hospital.
No woman reveals such a shameful past with lies. Korean, Chinese and even Netherland sexual slavery victims survived and took the courage to testify their damage.
Because the Japanese government lied many girls that the girls would work in the factories, but they had to be slaves. And Japanese government had taken many poor girls away by force. The teenage girls spent many years a terrible time as sexual slaves. They blamed the Japanese government for ruining their lives.
What they want is not money. What they want is to receive an sincere apology from the Japanese government.
But not admitting past wrongdoings and Japanese government makes Japanese history textbooks which don't teach Japanese students about past wrongdoing during the secon world war like comfort women and the Nanjing massacre.
The attitude of Japanese government are very different from the German government’s , because German government still asks forgiveness for Nazi brutality and tries not to make the same mistake again.
