소프트뱅크는 비전 펀드에 속해있는 스타트업들의 손실로 인해 지난 분기 약소한 영업이익을 보고했습니다. 이런 실적 감소로 인해서 액티비스트 헤지펀드인 일 리어 트는 소프트뱅크가 $20bn의 주식 환매하라는 압박을 하고 있습니다. 마사요시 손은 일리어트를 달래기 위한 조치로 “특별한 투자자가 비전 펀드에 있는 걸 고맙게 여긴다”라는 코멘트를 했습니다.

실적보고 하기 전날 소프트뱅크는 기쁜 소식 하나를 들었습니다. 미국 연방법원이 스프린트가 티모바일에게 인수되는 것에 우호적인 판결을 내렸다는 것입니다. 그 소식이 나오자마자 주가는 12% 상승했습니다. 하지만 스프린트의 재무상태가 워낙 안 좋아서 티모바일은 더 좋은 조건으로 인수할 방안을 찾고 있습니다.

벤츠는 배기가스 배출 조작 사건 벌금으로 인해 기록적인 판매에도 불구하고 순이익이 64% 감소했습니다. 10년 동안 최악의 실적이며, 또한 전기차 시대로 옮겨가는데 어려움을 겪고 있습니다.

직원들과 경영진 간의 긴장이 계속되는 가운데 구글의 최고 인사 담당자가 사직했다고 합니다. 표면적인 이유는 가족들과 더 많은 시간을 보내고 싶다는 것이 퇴직 사유입니다만 

구글은 미국 국방부에 드론 관련해서 구글이 협력하는 것에 대해 직원들이 공적으로 의견을 표시하는 것을 경고했습니다.
