노도 怒涛 Raging waves by Seren Lee 2023 Oil on Linen 60.6×60.6×3.5 cm

  얄팍하게도 인간을 겨우 몇 가지 유형으로 나누고 그 유형이 대표하는 특성으로 타인을 멋대로 판단 및 재단하는 요즈음. 그러나 우리는 폭거 하는 분류와 레이블링에 거침없이 저항해야 한다. 인간은 몇 가지 변하지 않는 특징만으로 대표되는 공산품이 아니다. 살아있는 영혼으로 흐름을 타고 생생하게 움직이는 존재다. 동일한 성향으로 평생을 사는 사람은 없으며, 개인의 심리 체계 또한 세상에 존재하는 사람 수와 같다. 나를 규정하는 모든 확신에 저항하고 분노한다. 확신이란 자유로운 사고를 차단하는 감옥이다. 생에는 분명 우연의 아름다움이 존재한다. 이는 경직된 사고로는 받아들일 수 없는 갸륵함이다. 유연한 바다와 항거하는 파도는 나에게 자유를 가르치고, 나의 실존에 폭력적인 기조에 떠내려가지 않도록 힘을 준다. 바다로부터 배운 자유는 나를 고귀한 개성으로 이끈다.

  In today's world, people are often categorized into a few types, and hasty judgments are made based on the characteristics represented by those types. However, we must resist the reckless act of categorization and labeling. Human beings cannot be represented solely by a few unchanging features, like industrial products. They are vibrant beings, souls that move vividly along the currents. No one lives their entire life with exactly the same qualities. Each individual's psychological system is as unique as the number of people in the world. I fight and rage against every belief that seeks to define me, for conviction is a prison that obstructs free thought. There is indeed a beauty in the randomness of life that cannot be accepted with rigid thinking. The flexible sea and the resilient waves teach me freedom, granting me the strength not to be swept away by the violent currents of societal norms. The freedom I have learned from the sea guides me towards cherishing my noble individuality.

  人を浅はかにくつかのタイプに分け、そのタイプが代表する特性で軽々しくい判断する昨今。しかし、暴挙する分類とレーブリングに我々は躊躇なく抵抗しなければならない。人はいくつかの変わらない特徴だけで代表できる工業製品ではない。生き生きする魂として、流れに乗って生々しく動く存在。一生全く同じ性質で生き続ける人はいない。個人の心理体系もまた、世の中に存在する人の数と一緒だ。己を規定する全ての確信に争い、激怒する。確信とは、自由な思考を遮断する監獄だ。生には確かに偶然の美しさというものが宿っている。これは硬い思考のままでは受け入れられない優しさだ。柔らかい海と抗う力を持つ波は、私に自由を教えてくれる、己の実存というものが暴力的な世間の流れに惑わされないように力を与えてくれる。海から学んだ自由は己を尊い個性に導く。
