The Temple of the Lord
예레미야(Jer) 7장
2. 너는 여호와의 집 문에 서서 이 말을 선포하여 이르기를 여호와께 예배하러 이 문으로 들어가는 유다 사람들아 여호와의 말씀을 들으라
2. “Stand at the gate of the LORD’s house and there proclaim this message: “ ‘Hear the word of the LORD, all you people of Judah who come through these gates to worship the LORD.
3. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 너희 길과 행위를 바르게 하라 그리하면 내가 너희로 이 곳에 살게 하리라
3. This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place.
4. 너희는 이것이 여호와의 성전이라, 여호와의 성전이라, 여호와의 성전이라 하는 거짓말을 믿지 말라
4. Do not trust in deceptive words and say, “This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD!”
11. 내 이름으로 일컬음을 받는 이 집이 너희 눈에는 도둑의 소굴로 보이느냐 보라 나 곧 내가 그것을 보았노라 여호와의 말씀이니라
11. Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the LORD.
The temple of God has become a den of robbers who deceive those who believe that they are safe in there. This warning was the same as Jesus had done in a temple in anger and fury, to those who made the holy temple like a business center or a market, by earning money with deceit, not caring for anyone who are poor or sick, or even God, the owner of it.
Once, a temple was the most important place where God wanted to show and tell that He was present among the Israelites in the wilderness, and He also revealed Himself in there through natures like clouds and fire or by using voices or real actions.
However, in reality, He doesn't dwell only in there because He is beyond any areas and time as well. Then, where is He?
He dwells in the heart of believers who have got the faith of Him, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, so we true Christians are the temple itself as said in the second Corinthians, 6:16, (하나님의 성전과 우상이 어찌 일치가 되리요 우리는 살아 계신 하나님의 성전이라 이와 같이 하나님께서 이르시되 내가 그들 가운데 거하며 두루 행하여 나는 그들의 하나님이 되고 그들은 나의 백성이 되리라), quote in English, "What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
Believe or not, God says that He has been watching if we are reforming our ways and actions. Otherwise, we will not ever live in this Holy place, although we go to churches on a daily or a weekly basis.
