'Storytelling doesn't matter for genra It just storytelling'
시나리오 1단계 사람에 대한 이야기를 쓰면 대중의 흥미와 관심을 끌 수 있다.
평범한 사람들이 특이한 상황에 처한 것을 적어보라
Ordinary people get involve extraordinary situation
그리고 친숙한 문제를 겪는 인물을 등장시켜 관객의 공감대를 사라
The world needs to feel we are all the same
1. 평범한 사람의 이야기
2. 평범한 사람이 특이한 상황/ 문제에 빠진다
3. 그 문제는 친숙하거나 친숙한 인물과 관련이 있다
Humansim 과 Technical 을 이분법적으로 나누지 말고
캐릭터의 감정선을 어떻게 하면 잘 표현할지에 초점을 맞춰라
감정선을 표현하는 방식이 Tech 일 수도 있다는 것이다.
The Abyss (심연)1989를 제작한 후 제임스 카메론이 개인적으로 느낀 것은
영상미로만 관객을 잡을 수는 없다, 관객은 감정적으로 소통하는 작품을 원한다는 것이다.

what set me down the parth of actually being a director was my love of cinema, my love of storytelling that intersection of picture and story and wanting to do it and then giving myself
permission and it was in a context of a production environment

신인 감독들에게,
the important thing is have luch with your notes and figure out what it is you are going to do
knowing people farther up the food chain does not really help you as much as yoy think
it will.
knowing people at your level that you can trust and that you respect and you are learning together with is much more productive use of your time.
작품에 강한 여성 캐릭터가 자주 등장하는 이유
Strong women characters
“제가 작품에 계속해서 강한 여성 캐릭터를 등장시킬 이유는 많았습니다. 우선 여성들과 관객들이 그런 캐릭터를 좋아했어요. 그리고 저는 피해자로 그려지는 캐릭터에게 투지가 있었다는 전개를 좋아합니다.
‘너 사람 잘못 건드렸어’라는 일종의 고전적인 클리셰죠. 왜 꼭 그런 역할을 남자가 해야만 하나요?

I love female characters in movies
I was fascinated by women in general their perspective on the world and so on.
I think the director should be very gender agnostic.
감독은 감독일 뿐이다.
어떠한 편견의 렌즈로 이야기를 담지 말자
스트리밍 시대의 영화
“스트리밍 서비스는 시간의 제약이 없어요. 6시간짜리, 10시간짜리 영화도 가능하죠. 심지어는 멈춰두고 나중에 볼 수도 있어요. 흥미로운 경험에 제한이 없어졌습니다. 제 생각엔 사람들이 계속해서 영화관에 가는 이유에는 변치 않는 한 가지가 있습니다. ‘영화관에선 이상한 짓을 하지 않겠다’라는 사회적 합의가 생기거든요.
we are obviosly living in very challenging time. so we go to movies, we want to escape
but what does 'escape' mean?
for some people it is 'I'd not want to think about any problems. so they may go to a superhero movies like Marvel.
What they seeking out is kind of mythic stroytelling

the fairy tales write large. they are the greek myths

The length of an experience is really unbounded
so I think that the definition of what movie is going to change.

I think that interest is the critical factro for the length of an expereice

I cannot just get up now and not see what happens to the charcters
Go to see a movie = Social Contract
be as a stranger in a big room with bunch of people
It cannot all be about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
