벌써 정치 스타트업을 시작한지도 2년 반이라는 시간이 흘렀습니다.
사업은 참 어려운 일이었습니다.
사업을 하기 위해서는 좋은 팀원들을 만나야 하고, 좋은 시장을 만나야하고, 좋은 제품을 만들어야 하고, 좋은 후원자들을 만나야 하고, 좋은 사용자를 만나야 하고, 좋은 때를 만나야 하고, 좋은 투자자를 만나야 하고, 좋은 정책을 만나야 합니다.
이 하나하나의 만남은 모두 기적과 같습니다. 세상에 수많은 점들이 이어지는 모든 연결이 하나의 기적과 같습니다.
그런데 사업의 무서운 점은 모든 기적이 필요조건이라는 것입니다. 수십가지의 기적이 모두 함께 일어나야만 사업이 됩니다. 아무리 좋은 제품도 사용자를 못 만나거나, 투자자를 못 만나거나, 좋은 때를 못 만나거나, 팀을 못 만나거나 어느 하나만 안 되어도 사업으로 성립이 될 수 없습니다.
옥소폴리틱스에는 감사하게도 이 수 많은 기적들이 모두 일어났습니다. 특히 많이 기적이 필요한 정치라는 영역에서 여기까지 온 스타트업 회사는 세계적으로 전례를 찾아보기 힘듭니다.
사업의 또 어려운 점은 항상 “이제부터 진짜 시작이야"라는 말을 하게 된다는 것입니다. 처음 프로덕트가 나왔을 때에도, 처음 투자를 받았을 때에도, 처음 팁스 유치에 성공했을 때에도, 처음 사용자가 1만명을 넘었을 때에도, 처음 사용자가 10만명을 넘었을 때에도, 처음 수익을 올렸을 때에도, 처음 큰 규모의 계약을 했을 때에도 항상 했던 말이 “이제부터가 진짜 시작이야"였습니다. 이렇게 계속 시작만 되는 일은 평생 해본 적이 없는 것 같습니다.
이제 또 새로운 시작입니다. 옥소폴리틱스는 앞으로 1년의 런웨이를 얻었습니다. 그리고 이 런웨이 끝에는 반드시 이륙을 해서 독자적으로 생존할 수 있는 회사가 되어야 합니다. 그 계획을 준비해 놓았고 그대로 해내기만 하면 됩니다.
사업이라는 것은 신대륙을 찾아가는 항해와 같습니다. 하루에도 몇번씩 조금만 더 가면 육지가 있을 것이라는 희망에 가득차다가도 다음 순간 포기하고 돌아가고 싶은 마음이 듭니다. 특히 지치고 피곤할 때에는 부정적인 생각이 더 많이 듭니다.
그렇지만 객관적으로 한발 떨어져서 보면 이만큼 이룬 것도 엄청난 성과이고 앞으로 이룰 수 있는 성과는 너무나 많습니다. 특히 올해에는 미국 자회사를 세우고 글로벌 비즈니스를 런칭할 계획입니다. 정말 기대되는 2023년입니다.
이번 라운드에 큰 힘이 되어주신 홍상민 대표님께 깊은 감사를 드립니다. 성숙하고 튼튼한 옥소가 되어 “모든 사람의 모든 생각"이 투명하게 전달되는 세상을 만들겠습니다.

Oxopolitics has closed its bridge round investment.
Two and a half years have passed since I started the political startup.
Doing a startup business is difficult indeed.
To do business, you have to meet good team members, you have to meet good markets, you have to make good products, you have to meet good sponsors, you have to meet good users, you have to meet good times, you have to meet good investors, you have to meet good policies. do.
Each of these encounters is like a miracle. Every connection between the countless dots in the world is like a miracle.
But the scary thing about business is that every miracle is a necessary condition. Dozens of miracles must all happen together to become a business. No matter how good a product is, it cannot be established as a business if it cannot meet users, cannot meet investors, cannot meet good times, or cannot meet the team.
Thankfully, all of these miracles have happened to Oxopolitics. A startup company that has come this far, especially in the realm of politics that requires a lot of miracles, is hard to find a worldwide precedent.
Another difficult thing about business is that you always say, “this is the real start.” Even when I first reached 100,000 users, when I first made a profit, and when I signed a large-scale contract for the first time, what I always said was, “This is the real start.” I don't think I've ever done anything like this in my life.
Now it's a new beginning. Oxopolitics got a year on the runway ahead. And at the end of this runway, it must take off and become a company that can survive on its own. We've prepared a good plan, and all we need to do is execute it right.
Business is like a voyage to a new continent. Several times a day, I am full of hope that there will be land if I go a little further, but the next moment I feel like giving up and going back. Especially when I'm exhausted and tired, I have more negative thoughts.
However, if you look at it objectively from a distance, it is a great success to have achieved this much, and there are so many achievements that can be won in the future. In particular, we plan to establish a US subsidiary and launch a global business this year. I'm really looking forward to it.
I am deeply grateful to Eddy Hong for being a great lead investor in this round. We will become a mature and strong company and create a world where “everyone’s every thought” is transparently communicated.
And I would like to give my support to all the startups going through a cold winter. Startups change the world.
