President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey accused America of supporting the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), a Kurdish separatist group, which the Turkish government accused of murdering 13 Turks in northern Iraq on Sunday. The group denies responsibility, blaming the deaths on a Turkish air strike. Turkey also detained over 700 individuals who it claimed are associated with the PKK.

The DRC’s previous outbreak, which was brought to heel last June, killed more than 2,200 people. A global stockpile of 500,000 vaccines should help control the virus’s spread.
