The American economy added 916,000 jobs in March, a much greater number than economists had forecast and considerably more than the 468,000 positions created in February. Britain’s medical regulator said that seven people in the country had died of cerebral blood clots after receiving AstraZeneca’s covid-19 vaccine. Concerns about clotting have led several countries to limit rollout of the jab. Whether there is a causal link between the vaccine and the deaths in Britain is yet to be determined; the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency said that the benefits of the vaccine outweighed any risk.
